I'm a member of a local gym but not using it as much as I should be. Thinking about canceling my membership. What are other alternatives to losing weight and toning the body? I have no room for equipment at home and the complex I live in doesn't have an in-house gym. I want to save my money. Any suggestions?

Get outside! Go run, get a bike, walk a dog, row, swim, play Frisbee, join an adult softball league, become a Big Brother and run around with a kid while you mentor him, go rollerblading - anything!

Gyms aren't necessary if you're creative and self-motivating. The world is your gym!!! Run the stairs in your complex, do wind sprints in the parking lot, do pull up on strong tree branches at the park (I've seen it done!), use stairs to do calf raises, carry your grocery bags over your head.

If you want indoor actviites, get a couple workout videos and try those. Not my personal prefernce but they work for some people! Also, Men's Health magazine runs issues with "home gyms for the non-gym rat" that don't include equipment and stuff, those are great.

You have TONS of options outside the gym, especially with the nice weather coming about.

Good luck!!!
