I have a 95 contour and my turn signal stopped working. THe emergency lights have worked for a while. Im guessing I need to replace the signal flasher, but im not sure where its located and how hard it is to get to and or remove? How about the switch? thanks

Just had this done in my '96 Contour.

The hazard flasher / turn signal control is in the steering column. It's a "wedge-shaped" piece that fits over the steering column and includes the left turn-stubbies and the hazard switch. It's about $150 from the dealer. You have to remove the bottom screws to undo the top and bottom cover, remove those, then it should slide right out from the top.

flasher relay is actually on the turn signal switch itself... biggest issue we have with them is actual issues with the turn signal switch themselves....

If I remember, the emergencys are controlled by the same relay as the turn

i would check the bulbs first if their bad replace them , if not the blinker relay is in the fuse box , read the owners manual for location and which relay to replace.
