I go to the gym 5 times a week, and when I dont go I usually skip lunch have a small breakfast, and small dinner. the gap between the 2 is like 11 hours. I do it because I'm worried that if I eat like I regularly do(healthy) I' wont see any progress. Is it ok to do it say once a week(one of the days I dont go to the gym)

if gaining muscle mass is your primary goal starving the body is the absolute worst thing you can do. the body is either in a catabolic state or anabolic state or transitioning between the two. anabolic activity is last on the list of biological functions that the human body performs. if the body does not get regular amounts of nutrients to perform the basic biological functions then gaining mass isn't going to happen very much and especially not on a grand scale. the body begins to enter starvation mode when the gastrointestinal tract (GIT) is empty. this is usually 3-4 hours after the last meals was consumed, depending on the contents. catabolic hormones begin to rise at this point. the longer the body is left in a catabolic state the longer it takes to get back to a anabolic state. if you starve yourself for 11 hours that's almost 1/2 the day. it might take your body an additional 10-12+ hours to get back into a anabolic state after you eat again. as this will take several meals at the minimum.

increasing muscle mass is all about nutrition and manipulating the endocrine system through diet and exercise. the vast majority of people never make the gains that they desire because of shortcomings in the diet. going to the gym is the easy part.

It is never okay to starve yourself unless a doctor has told you to do so. Even though mentally you may not think you need the calories, a 24-hour period between workouts does not decrease your body's need for nutrient. Your body needs nutrients, plain and simple. By skipping meals you ARE slowing that metabolism. Your body doesn't have food it in and goes into "survival mode" which slows your metabolism and increases fat storage. By putting your metabolism on a roller coaster you're not doing yourself any good at all. Just eat healthy 7 days a week and workout 5 of them and you will be healthy.

actually you will gain weight b/c your body is working hard and then it's not rewarded with a proper diet.
and your body isn't gettng enough of the iron and calcium and other nutrients it needs since you work out.
everybody should eat at least three meals and one snack a day, exercise at least three times a week, and get at 8 hours of sleep a night
also, you should see your doc regulary
i would suggest you talk to a nutritionist or dietician to see how you can get the results you want for your body type and such

No it is not. You are not giving your body the proper nutrients to heal during your workout breaks. If you eat correctly your body will burn calories even when you sleep. Therefore it is still burning calories on the days you take off. I would see a nutritionist about your diet to have them work out the best option for your needs.

properly, by way of fact that is already summer season, there's no actual way which you will look warm in a bikini this summer season. in case you act now, and alter some issues, by utilising the time next summer season arrives, you may knock 'em decrease back along with your warm bod in a bikini. the only component that starving your self will do is to sluggish your metabolism to a crawl, make you hungry and you'd be hungry and not lose one among those weight which you truly desire to lose, and once you start to consume returned, you will earnings decrease back despite you lost. start up now with a useful eating plan, and lightweight activity at the same time with bike driving or strolling, and by utilising next summer season, you would be that warm mama which you truly desire to be this summer season.

no. not at all. when you starve yourself your body thinks there's a shortage on food, so it stores up fat. which is hard to get rid of. my suggestion: work out AND eat healthy. breakfast, lunch and dinner with snack inbetween. smaller meals more often is the best way to go.

no, infact your body will just go into starvation mode and it will make it harder for you to lose weight because your body will just hold onto it. You should just space out your meals, watch portion control (which seems you have no problem with) and start including snacks. Eat 3 meals a day, and 3 snacks... Don't starve yourself

No. Regardless of if you are trying to lose weight or whatever, it is still important to maintain a regular diet and keep your body nourished. The fact that you are exercising makes it even more important. Your body is using up energy and nutrients, and not replenishing them can be dangerous.

No it's worse...your body will store more fat and burn it slowly (your metabolism will slow down) because you are starving yourself, so instead of burning the fat and calories right away it will store them. The healthiest way is to eat smaller meals more times a day (this actually speeds up your metabolism).
