Ok, here's the thing. Sis, if a hijab bothers you, why wear a hat? If you're going to wear a hat in the summer heat, why not instead swap it for a hijab, which 1. is much more beneficial for protecting you from the sun, and 2. pleases Allah.
Some sisters are always looking for excuses to avoid wearing the hijab, and I have to say this: if you're not ready to wear it, don't. But also don't try to make excuses for not wearing it. Summer is hot no matter what you wear.
Aside from that, hijab is not only the piece of cloth you wear on your head. It's how you dress, how you carry yourself, how you act towards others... Again, if you're not ready for it, then wait until you are ready, but don't try to find reasons to make up for any guilt felt, because it won't do you any good.
Good luck sis, and may you get the best of this life and the afterlife. Ameen.
Oh, and for names:
Sarah, Samia, Safiyah, Sawsan (similar to Susan), Sana' (hamza at the end), Sorayah, Sameena, Sakeena, Salwa
Samer (different from Sameer), Sameh
Man! I didn't know I knew so many S names, lol!

A lot of hats hold more heat in on your head than some of the lighter hijab you can get out there... I'm Buddhist but I wore hijab while studying Islam and there are lighter fabrics that let the air through while covering you well. I'm sure the Muslimahs in here can give you good links to shops with the good stuff.

Well baby, hijab is a fashion created by muslim. It's year 2007, fashion is at the peak. Why don't you create your own fashion and make a difference and start a trend.
What you describe up there is already so fashionable in my country. Even we are a muslimah, we are fashion victim too you know.
And my name start from S but i am not gonna revealed it here but it means determination. It's a unique name. And that T infront of that alphabet S is my husband's initial. - TS

i found this from a website. read carefully.
Women dress code in Islam has been abused by traditionalist beyond the limits. God in the Quran has set few rules for this dress code and deliberately ignored many others. God is the Most Merciful, and wants us to have many choices. No man on earth can take from us what God gave us.

I believe well I'm not a Muslim but my answer is that in your surah AL nuur 24:31 I believe that it means to keep yourself or affection for your family, like in the Bible it speaks of nakedness, to keep yourself covered ,and to keep your beauty only for your husband family should just only her beauty be kept for her husband?
