I question my religion & faith every day. I always doubt & search for answers everywhere. I have learned that this is the way I am & I feel comfortable with it. Why else would the God of my religion give me brains & free will if not to question & doubt? I don't feel I have to justify my questioning to other members of my religion (or other beliefs) unless they particularly ask me about it. We are all individuals with our own private thoughts & motivation for seeking what we seek. They have their secret heart too which is not of my right to invade.
I often seek answers in other places, groups, religions, but find it just confirms that I've found the right one for me & I go back time after time - I don't really know why, if it's culture, familiarity, or a greater calling. Once you start seeking you can't help finding answers in the most unexpcted of places. I think you will enjoy life's journey & find it a great adventure. You are spirited....

That's actually not true. I give people credit for having what they consider to be acceptable evidence for believing whatever religion they believe in. Sometimes they prove me wrong, and actually have put no thought at all into their choices.
Think of this--would you say to a scientist who favored one theory over another (I mean a debatable theory, about which there is not scientific consensus) that she called the theory right just because of herown belief? No, you would probably say, "He is basing his decision on facts X, Y, & Z, and makes a certain set of deductions, applies that model, etc." But the thought process can, in fact, be the same as with a religion. It just doesn't use so-called "formal logic," which is, in itself, a system of belief.

I think when some people say that they mean it's the right religion for them personally. I believe my religion is the right religion for *me*. It's not my habit of trying to decide what's right for everyone else. Because religion is so personal and subjective - no single belief is a one-size-fits-all. That's how I feel about it.

People feel that way because it is the right one for them (hopefully they have chosen their beliefs by that inner truth/voice). What is harder to keep in mind, is that everyone else is entitled to the same choice, even if it is strange or wierd.

All religion is wrong. The chances of one religion being entirely correct are absolutely ludicrous. I believe in a supreme entity/power, and I support the right to believe whatever you want, but there's nothing I hate more than someone trying to shove their religion down my throat.

I'm sure when the ancient egyptians thought their gods and religion was true they thought others were wrong; same with everyone else (well some people)

Why do people feel this way subconsciously? I don't. I recognize this consciously. Only a total idiot would "pick" a religion that they don't think is the right one.....

Actually that's how I really feel.
More like this though: "This is the right one, so this is the one I've chosen."
