The bible explicitly informs its readers why people are so blind.
(2 Corinthians 4:4) [Satan] the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, that the illumination of the glorious good news about the Christ, who is the image of God, might not shine through.
These related Scriptures help clarify that the majority of humankind would remain in spiritual darkness:
(Isaiah 60:2) For, look! darkness itself will cover the earth, and thick gloom the national groups; but upon you Jehovah will shine forth, and upon you his own glory will be seen.
(John 8:12) Therefore Jesus spoke again to them, saying: “I am the light of the world. He that follows me will by no means walk in darkness, but will possess the light of life.”
The bible's message is one of "good news"; it is a shame more people do not respect it.

The Witnesses make many claims in their attempt to convert you to their faith. They profess to have the only true Christian church, to be the only true representatives of God, to have the only correct biblical teaching, and to be the only true announcers of Jehovah's coming kingdom.
If they are the only true church and are the only true voice of God's word, then what they say should prove to be true, especially in prophecy. When it comes to predicting the future, the Watchtower organization fails miserably. Following are some of the false predictions made over the years by the Watchtower organization. If you present these to a JW, he will probably say something like, "Those are taken out of context," or "They didn't claim to be the prophet of God," or "The light is getting brighter and we are understanding Bible prophecy better now," etc. Make a copy of these false prophecies, found in the appendix, and give it to them to check. They are right out of the Witnesses' literature.
Remember Deut. 18:22, "If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the LORD does not take place or come true, that is a message the LORD has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him." If someone makes a false prophecy, and they have claimed to be a prophet of God, then they are false prophets and are not to be listened to.
Do the Witnesses claim to be the prophet of God? Yes, they do.
In 1972 the Jehovah's Witness Watchtower claimed to be the prophet of God.
IDENTIFYING THE "PROPHET" -- "So does Jehovah have a prophet to help them, to warn them of dangers and to declare things to come? These questions can be answered in the affirmative. Who is this prophet?...This "prophet" was not one man, but was a body of men and women. It was the small group of footstep followers of Jesus Christ, known at that time as International Bible Students. Today they are known as Jehovah's Christian Witnesses...Of course, it is easy to say that this group acts as a ‘prophet' of God. It is another thing to prove it." The Watchtower, 4/1/72, p. 197. (See Deut. 18:21)
1897 "Our Lord, the appointed King, is now present, since October 1874," Studies in the Scriptures, Vol. 4, page 621.
1899 "...the ‘battle of the great day of God Almighty' (Revelation 16:14), which will end in A.D. 1914 with the complete overthrow of earth's present rulership, is already commenced." The Time Is at Hand, page 101 (1908 edition).
1916 "The Bible chronology herein presented shows that the six great 1000 year days beginning with Adam are ended, and that the great 7th Day, the 1000 years of Christ's Reign, began in 1873." The Time Is at Hand, page ii, (forward).
1918 "Therefore we may confidently expect that 1925 will mark the return of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and the faithful prophets of old, particularly those named by the Apostle in Hebrews 11, to the condition of human perfection." Millions Now Living Will Never Die, page 89.
1922 "The date 1925 is even more distinctly indicated by the Scriptures than 1914." The Watchtower 9/1/22, page 262.
1923 "Our thought is, that 1925 is definitely settled by the Scriptures. As to Noah, the Christian now has much more upon which to base his faith than Noah had upon which to base his faith in a coming deluge." The Watchtower, page 106 4/1/23.
1925 "The year 1925 is here. With great expectation Christians have looked forward to this year. Many have confidently expected that all members of the body of Christ will be changed to heavenly glory during this year. This may be accomplished. It may not be. In his own due time God will accomplish his purposes concerning his people. Christians should not be so deeply concerned about what may transpire this year." The Watchtower, 1/1/25, page. 3.
1925 "It is to be expected that Satan will try to inject into the minds of the consecrated, the thought that 1925 should see an end to the work." The Watchtower, Sept, 1925 page 262.
1926 "Some anticipated that the work would end in 1925, but the Lord did not state so. The difficulty was that the friends inflated their imaginations beyond reason; and that when their imaginations burst asunder, they were inclined to throw away everything." The Watchtower, page 232.
1931 "There was a measure of disappointment on the part of Jehovah's faithful ones on earth concerning the years 1917, 1918, and 1925, which disappointment lasted for a time...and they also learned to quit fixing dates." Vindication, page 338.
1941 "Receiving the gift, the marching children clasped it to them, not a toy or plaything for idle pleasure, but the Lord's provided instrument for most effective work in the remaining months before Armageddon." The Watchtower, 9/15/41, page 288.
1968 "True, there have been those in times past who predicted an ‘end to the world', even announcing a specific date. Yet nothing happened. The ‘end' did not come. They were guilty of false prophesying. Why? What was missing?.. Missing from such people were God's truths and evidence that he was using and guiding them." Awake, 10/8/68.
1968 "Why are you looking forward to 1975?" The Watchtower, 8/15/68, page 494.
A JW might say that the organization is still learning. If that is so, then how can they trust what they are taught now by the Watchtower? Will what they are being taught now change also?
A true prophet of God won't err in prophesying. Only a false prophet does. The Jehovah's Witness organization, that claims to be a prophet of God, is really a false prophet. Jesus warned us by saying, "For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect -- if that were possible" (Matt. 24:24).

Hi, my father was a Jehovah's Witness and I know a lot of this religion. He used to show me the verses from the Bible for every subject we talked about. I always listened to what he had to say to me, but I never followed his religion.
- I dont like the idea of a religion to make you go door to door, invading people's privacy to preach.
- I never understood why they dont marry other people from a different religion (I had a friend who was JW, and she had a very hard time with parents during adolescense because of boyfriends and friends in general).
- I never understood why a JW couldn't receive blood transfusion from a person from other religion (God is so wise that my father had leukemia and he received lots of transfusions before dying in 2005, that's how God showed him how silly he was about his statements throughout life).
- I had a friend who was not a JW and he was broke, going through a lot of financial problems and his siblings denied him any support just because he was not a JW.
- I never understood why they think they are the only ones in God's preference list.
- I cant understand why they think there is no life after death... I do.
- I never understood why they never gave the Virgin Mary any credits almost no respect for what she was (neither Magdalene), yet all the male figure in the Bible are treated with exagerated respect.
- I never understood why they dont celebrate birthdays and other hollidays, those you call pagan... you make me laugh... Do you really think God is concerned about our hollidays?
- I never understood why they dont celebrate Christmas, since nobody knows exactly when Jesus was born, why not accept dec-25 as a symbolic date?
- I dont understand why they try so hard to be different from everybody else and are so exclusevely into their own.
- I never understood why they are so judgmental, to the point that when people from other religion has misfortunes in life, they feel so good about themselves and say things like "that's what happens when you dont believe in Jehovah..." type of thing, as if other people's disgrace and unhappiness make them happy.
I could say more and more that I dont understand, but I'll stop here.
I love my father and I know he is somewhere thinking: "my daughter was right... Here I am in the after life world..."
Peace!

I wouldnt call finding someone who has found the path that corrosponds with everything they feel inside blind. Isnt that kind of what you are upset with regarding the stereotypes about JW? Each of us feels that our path is the best because it is the best for us and has invigorated our lives. What is neglected is the fact that everyone is different. What makes one person happy may make another sad or upset and vice versa.
Congratulations on finding your inner truth and sticking up for it. Just remember to allow others to do the same. When it comes down to it, all any of us can do is agree to disagree.....

Are you allowed to have friends who are JW
Are you allowed to go out and do nomimal things, like go to McD's to eat, talk with your NON-JW friends on a cell phone.
I personally don't have much against them. I used to have them in my home, but I don't subscribe to their views.
I do find their publications to be very well written and well reasearched, although the last paragraph always tends to promote cavities in my mouth and I'm religious.
I just don't view that God is responsible for EVERYTHING. I mean I don't think GOD had anything, whatsoever, to do with making the first A BOMB -- I'm talking about the Hiroshima one, not the one that turn Lot's wife to salt.
I don't think the HAND OF GOD helped man make the A BOMB or Industry or the AUTO.
And by the way, the going out and spreading the word thing is nice.
But there are rules established by a dude named JESUS and he said out out with NOTHING IN YOUR POCKETS, when asked for your COAT give your CLOAK as well, have NO home, go from door step to door step. When asked to carry the pack 5 miles, carry it 10 miles.
You fall a little short of those instructions.
YOu do tend to go back to NICE homes with NICE dinners and you do carry wallets and money sometimes.
And I don't see too many of you giving you coat to a homless person who is shivering and asks for some help.
I also don't see you cutting the grass and tirmming the hedges in the yards of the eldery whose kids have forogtten about them.
Of course, maybe you guys aren't in to Jesus...

Here is Ex Jehovah Witnesses testimonies & why they left.
http://www.witforjesus.org/jehovahs_witness/testimonies/jw_ex-jw.php
Here is something for you to read, examine & study.
Don’t I have to do some kind of work to be saved—get baptized, confess my sin, etc?
No. Christ paid for your salvation. It is offered as a gift. The Bible says your salvation is a gift. It plainly states you get salvation by faith. It also specifically says that salvation is not earned by works:
Ephesians 2:8 and 9
(8) For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—
(9) not by works, so that no one can boast.
This verse is very clear. It says that you have been saved by God’s grace through your faith. That means that when you have faith in Christ, God saves you by His grace (“grace” is undeserved favor from God). The verse goes on to say that salvation is a gift and that it is not by works.
Many Christians do not realize that salvation is a gift of God’s grace and that it is “not by works.” Salvation is a gift—you do not earn it by your works, you receive it by faith in Christ’s work.
There are many people doing good works who have never confessed that Jesus is Lord and who do not believe in his resurrection. Often they are taught that if you are a good person, God will give you eternal life. The Bible is very clear that good works do not save you, as we have just read in Ephesians 2:8 and 9. It is wonderful to do good works or be a “good person,” but that does not get you saved. The Bible says that the unsaved person is “dead in sin” (Eph. 2:1), and no one who is “dead” can do any good works. He must first receive life via the new birth, and then he can work for God. Don’t guess about how to get eternal life. God gave you His Word to openly show you the way of salvation, and Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life.” You come to the Father through Jesus. John 14:6

First we must examine what you mean by blind:
It seems to me that you mean people are blind to specifically the will of Jehovah.(1) Which as you can see by definition is simply a translation of the word God. Now why specifically is the will of your translation of the word God more ineffiable than say Allah.(2) You seem to think that your God is different from the God's of other religions, which by certain characteristics it is but how can you tell me which of God's Prophets (Peace Be Upon Them All) I should follow for if every claim every Prophet of God made is true then there is only one true religion. How you tell me that is honestly the Judeo-Christian God?

My ex-sister-in-law is a JW. She and the rest of her family let her father die alone simply because he wasn't a JW any more. He was still a Christian. I have no respect for anyone that acts like that.
May God Bless you.

I am JW too. our job is to preach the good news and not to take on people. We sow the seed and God does the rest. I know you mean well but...not here and in the manner you are doing it.

Some do do research and either view the findings as incorrect or decide to not follow up on the results. Sadly some just believe what others tell them.
