My husband recently order some things with his credit card and the credit card company put the payments through twice which put him over his credit limit, he contacted them straight away, he found out that his account was not the only one this has happened to. For the last 3 weeks they kept saying they had sorted it out and he could use the card again but everytime he goes to use it, it gets decline they have even tried to charge him for being over his limit. How long should it take for this to be sorted as it is becoming frustrating phoning them all the time.

Happened to me before too. I contacted my credit card company and they immediately freeze my transaction. It's ip to the retailer to proof that you've made 2 purchases. Like your husband, I was charged interest and late payment fee! It's not easy but keep hounding them. Works for me! They refunded both the interest and late payment fee.

Don't waste any more time chasing the people who (plainly) have no intention of making a refund (it take about 2 minutes to do a Credit Card refund - when you return an item to M&S they do the Refund it front of you at the till)).

He should contact the Card Issuer immediately and report the Unauthorised Transaction and ask them to reverse it immediatly.

You need a certified letter sent to the card company immediately. Outline everything that has happened, quote names of people you have spoken with, and insist that they not report this on your credit report. Keep copies of everthing.

This might be a problem with the merchant instead. Years ago I had a dupe charge. (They were within 10 seconds apart) One phone call and it was fixed.

write to company involved and threaten them with legal action if they do not refund you money, also include the cost of the charges i.e phone calls and bank charges
