Cupcakes with blue frosting (try and find Ariel or fish party favors to use as toppers), regular food, I like the idea of Goldfish crackers, wrap tables with the stuff they do around floats (looks like a hula skirt but its shiny and bright colors, you could do blue so it looks like water and tape some fish cut out of construction paper to it), Oriental Trading Co. has Little Mermaid party stuff (http://www.orientaltrading.com/application?namespace=browse&origin=catalogProducts.jsp&event=link.itemDetails&demandPrefix=12&sku=PT287&prodCatId=378061&mode=Browsing&erec=0&sp=true&Ntk=all&Ntx=mode%252bmatchallpartial&N=378061&sd=DISNEY%27S+THE+LITTLE+MERMAID+PARTY+THEME). I wish I had more ideas for you!

Good Luck!

Well I think any kind of BBQ would be great for a luau. Kabobs with beef or chicken and pineapple, bell pepper, and sweet onion would be a tasty alternative to seafood. If you use beef go with a sweet BBQ sauce. If you do the chicken try a sweet & sour glaze. Hope this helps!

the food does not really have to be tied in with the theme because other then goldfigh crackers i cannot think of anything!decorate the table with real shells maybe a little treasure chest.you could get the kids little hawiian skirts from the dollar store.anything beachy.

I went to a kids birthday party, and they had the same thing. Perhaps you could hire someone to dress like the Ariel fromt he little mermaid, and have her just do w.e. those entertainers do. All the kids loved it. I was incharge of making bracelets and necklaces for the children using beads in shape of shells. Goodluck!

you can buy madeline pans, where the cookies are in the shape as shells. A jello mold with gummy fish floating around in it could be neat too.

what about shishcabobs. ha, that is probably not even how you spell it. those are fun though and yummy. have fruit trays, there is this dip you can make (it's sour cream and brown sugar, sounds weird but is great to dip fruit in).
