Time. The point of a credit bureau report is to show when and where problems were at. Unless you have a valid dispute for them, only time will remove them.

You don't ! They do drop off after so many years . Just improve your credit now. Never go over 50% of what is High Credit on the cards you have . When you go over that 50% amount the scores drop very fast. Also if you have a car payment or any loans. Always pay them on the same day every month. This will show that you have your financial situation in control giving higher points to you on your reports.I do loans for Real Estate and I work with People with this situation all the time . Just make sure you have 3 or 4 good credit lines showing at least 24 months of no lates and you won't have to worry about that paid off collection any more .

Time is the only thing that will remove it. Collections stay on your credit even if you pay them for 7-years.

Send them a certified letter stating your account is paid off and remind them they legally have 30 days to mark it as paid. There are several credit companies you can go through that you can also pay a charge to be sure it is off within days. Good Luck! Jennifer
