That is possibly the sweetest thing I've ever heard. My little brother and I are full grown now, but I wish he'd call me up and say something like that! Write that in the baby book so that you have "proof!"

I'm not a mommy yet (I'm only 12 weeks along).

But I nanny for 3 year-old triplets, a girl and 2 boys. The other day, the girl (Sophia) said to her brother (Sam) "Aww, Sammy. Don't be sad!". It was the cutest thing.

It's amazing how much these little people know and understand!

It would have to be when we found out that our youngest (then 9 months) was allergic to our 4 yr old daughter's cat. She got the cat after her 3rd round of surgery (a reward for being so brave). We told her that the baby was allergic. I thought she would be devastated, but instead, she picked up the cat, kissed her, and handed her to my husband. She then walked over to the baby, sat on the floor, put him in her lap and said, "only for you, if I didn't have you, who else would I blame all my messes on." He snuggled his head against her and smiled, like he knew what she was saying.

My son actually said nothing as the other girl did the same. I guess it was more sign language. They were both about 14 months old and the mothers were holding them close to look at each other. My son reached over and hugged the girl with both arms and she smiled.
I think I saw him wink at her, but, I not real sure. ;-p

I remember when my son and daughter were a little younger--they are 4 and 5 now--my son got my attention while my daughter was doing something and said, "Awww, look mom, look at Haley isn't she cute?" which came out like "Aww, look mom, look at Hay idden see coooot?!" It was just so sweet that he would point out his little sister in that way--not that typical sibling rivalry--it was precious to me.

When my younger brother and I were little (I was 7 and he was 4),he said to me...."you get in trouble a WHOLE lot for a kid so next time we'll tell momma it was my own fault so you can get a trouble break."

That is so sweet!!! Kids say the darndest things, don't they? My daughter just says she loves her brother, little buddy, but she is much more hilarious when talking about other things. Gosh, they're cute when they're little!!
