This keeps in depth looks into her predictions and follows up with the people she talks to (Montel never does this).

She is very harmful in her BS. She has told parents that their missing child was dead and gave an overly vague location of the body. Police naturally found many places like it but no body, and 4 years later it turns out their child is still alive and had been captive. She has misheard telephone conversations and told a woman that her mother had died (she hadn't). And this sort of thing happens often enough to classify Sylvia Browne as a genuine menace.
She is also a convicted felon. =P
Oh and sometimes things in her books are plagiarized - nearly word for word - from other sources.

Hi,
Yep, I read the first one she wrote. Supposedly she had a near-death experience, and told of what she saw, etc.
This was after a book by Dr. Moody came out called "Life after Life", which was the true accounts of about 15 people who had the experience.
Sylvia Browne is crystal clear to me:
She's a fake, if there ever was one. It's obvious what she did: She paged through the Bible (and one that wasn't even a good translation) and picked out things that looked good to put in her account of the so-called "experience" that she had. For example: She said she saw people spinning white yarn to make clothing. She got that from Revelation where it says that the white robe you wear in the eternity is made up of your rightious acts - well, Sylvia made one big mistake: she didn't know the Bible well enough to pull off her fake account. The
white raiment is spiritual; nobody is sitting there sewing robes. You can wear that robe today, right here on earth - the Bible even states that with a relationship with Christ and with repentance, you wash your robe in the blood of the lamb, which makes it white.
But, Sylvia needed people to buy her story, so it needed to sound "holy". And ya know what? It worked. Know why? Because most people are biblically illiterate and don't really know whether something is actually in the Bible, or if they just heard it somewhere.
I can't believe she has Montel fooled.
Did you ever watch her on his show?
Some lady will ask her "why did my son die in the car accident - what really happened?"
And sylvia will say: They were going pretty fast and had an accident. Then she'll throw something in like: "kids get behind the wheel, and, oh, its awful". Hell, I could've told the woman that. You can see just by her body language that she's lying out of her butt.
Just a side-note: I used to attend the meetings called the "NDE monthly" which stands for Near Death Experience - held in havertown, Pennsylvania each month;
Thats where all the people who were in Dr. Moody's book, meet each month. Those people were professional, decent people, very grounded, no-nonsense types. They were not wackos and THEY believe Sylvia is a fake. Anyway, thats what I know...

Go to http://www.randi.org/
That is a skeptic website that has been tracking Sylvia Browne for a long time. They have a million dollar prize to anyone who can prove they have supernatural abilities. Sylvia Browne accepted the challenge, however, that is as far as she wanted to take it. She has never even tried to do the testing.
Also, there are various articles in there that talk about some of the flagrent misses she has had.

Well, if anyone can carry on a conversation with dead, I can't imagine it would be a exact science. I often wonder if she gets good reception or does it comes and go.
I can't say I believe in Ms Browne's ability. But I am open to the idea that such things could exist.
Ms Jan, I wasn't aware that she adheres to Holy Bibles teachings. There is a reason why this forum is not named Christianity, isn't there?

She's a crack pot looney with some really wild ideas about stuff. Most of her stuff is wrong and she doesn't know what she is talking about!! I like to watch her just to laugh at her. There are a few things she has said that I find eerily right, but most are just plain wrong, and so out in no man's land that it's quite funny.

I have read several of her books. I am currently reading "The Nature of Good and Evil". This is the best one so far.
I agree with her on a lot. In fact, in this book, I was pleasantly surprised to see her love for the Gnostic Gospels. I had no idea she, too, was interested in them.
Some of her stuff is a little far out there, even for me, but so what. It is best to only believe what makes sense to you.

I don't know a lot about her except she's written many books and there are many people who believe her. But, a lot of people thought the world was flat at one point in time.

I read part of one of her books. She makes some interesting claims. I am of the "anything is possible" line of thought but I don't embrace everything she says. She may have some talent but overall I think she's in it for the money.

I read one and that was more than enough. She mixes metaphysics and Gnosticism all in the guise of being Christian.
Persons who claim to prophesy should be judged by whether or not what they prophesy actually glorifies God.
Sylvia Browne glorifies no one but herself and her bank account.
