I live in California and have heard that I can get an extension for my car tags. I did not realize that I had to get a smog test. Aren't they those numbers that you put in your back window? I get them at the DMV right? I have an appt. today at the DMV. But because I did not smog check my car, will they give me an extension? My tags expire Sat.

Make SURE you bring proof of current insurance.

They usualy don't have a problem issuing extensions.

Note* They may want you to pay the current fee's due. Maybe not....It all depends on who assists you, and what kind of mood they're in.

I've never heard of extensions, maybe permits allowing you to get to the emissions station, but not to drive otherwise. You don't get the emissions test done at the DMV, there should be listings in your phone book, for emissions testing sites.

in simple terms bypass asap to the tag place of work or DMV and get them renewed there's a small nice for each month you're previous due and it won't substitute the renewal date for the destiny (ask your self how i comprehend that) in simple terms get it executed and take your coverage validation type no concerns human beings do it each and all of the time
