You are confused. Jesus rose from the dead and His body AND spirit ascended to heaven. Heaven is outside time and space, but Jesus is one and the same with God. He's all knowing and all powerful. He has no Earthly limitations.

Christ did ascend physically. He is outside time and space. Who says that we see everything with our eyes? There are things that can't be seen, and places that haven't been discovered.
When he was resurrected, his body and spirit were eternally connected. His body and spirit both went up to His Father. There is no body to find in a tomb. His body went with Him!

It is my feeling that we being truly "energy bodies", have to slow down our vibrational rate to inhabit a "physical body". To "ascend" is to raise our vibrational rate of energy while still "in body".
The theory therefore is that Jesus' body also "ascended" and became pure energy. There would be no "body" to find. This is what He taught the disciples and meant by continually repeating that we could also perform "miracles" and that we are of the "Light".

Jesus didn't ascend physically. He dematerialized the body he was using when he ascended. This wasn't the same body he had during most of his life, as that one was removed from earth previously. After his death, Jesus materialized in several different bodies before his ascension. This is why Mary didn't recognize Jesus immediately upon seeing him at the tomb (John 20:14-16).

There was recently a discovered tomb in Jerusalem while construction was going on and was filmed by James Cameron (Titanic) because of the rumored tomb of the family of Jesus, Mary. Mary Magdalene and Jesus'child Judas. You may try looking in Discovery Channel. If it is true, then it is possible that it was Jesus' spiritual ascension that was seen by his disciples. Although only one account was written about it and having only few of them witnessed it happened, a conspiracy theory is also possible for their deceptive moves. My personal theory on the ascenscion (which I have no proof or claim) is that His ascension is nothing but an honor we normally give to people who in our belief have done a great thing for us. Like Martin Luther King who was elevated to certain degree of respect by many for his dedication to the African-American recognition. Another is Mother Theresa for her devotion to the faith and contributions to the needy in every possible way she can.

Great question. It demonstrates that a belief in Jesus and his resurrection depends entirely upon a primitive view of the world where heaven exists up in the sky beyond the clouds. Obviously, since we have entered the space age, we know this isn't true. So where did Jesus go? And Elijah for that matter....

The Lord Jesus Christ set the precedent when He was resurrected, which means the reunion of body and spirit. It was the same body He had suffered mortal death in, for, if you remember, he showed to the apostles the wounds in his hands and feet. If his body had been different the scriptures in the Bible would be wrong.
When we are resurrected our bodies as we laid them down will be reunited with our spirits. It's important to remember that our bodies, regardless if we lost limbs or eyes, will grow to mature immortality and perfection. Eventually, however long it takes, our bodies will return to the time when they were virile, healthy, and perfected, but even more, immortal.
So you better like your body or learn to live with it because that will be your eternal tabernacle.

He didn't ascend pysically into heaven. 1 Cor. 15:50 says: "However, this I say, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit God’s kingdom, neither does corruption inherit incorruption."
Jesus was resurrected as a spirit person. 1 Pet. 3:18 says: "Christ died once for all time concerning sins, a righteous person for unrighteous ones, that he might lead you to God, he being put to death in the flesh, but being made alive in the spirit."
1Â Cor. 15:45: “It is even so written: ‘The first man Adam became a living soul.’ The last Adam [Jesus Christ, who was perfect as was Adam when created] became a life-giving spirit.”
So Christ did not ascend into heaven with a physical body. Instead, it was a spirit body.

Can physical matter not exist outside of time and space? What exactly does "outside of time and space" mean?
He ascended physically. He is in heaven. Can we prove this? Nope.
