i am a young mum (28), my daughter is 9 and my mum had me when she was 23 so we are all close. my daughter can be about to do something and is amazed when i say dont bother, the reason we know is because we know you better than yourself (please dont tell me we dont i meant in theory) we have watched all your body language and mannerisms since the day you were born, we know when your in a bad mood by just looking at you, its called mother - child bond

Mine too,They just do because they love us soooo much!! been through our whole life with us.
They know when were in love, or fallen out of love.
They know when somethings on our mind.
They know when were sick.
They know when were down etc etc......
They know because there our mums.
I'm like that with my son, He makes me laugh when he says Mum how did you know i wanted that????

Mums were young too and know all the tricks. You'll get your turn if/when you decide to have kids.

I think because your mum knows you better than anyone else does. She has been through lots herself and learnt from it.

i have seven kids and i know when any one of them are hiding something from me because when you watch a child grow from a baby to older your instinct to love and protect them just comes natually
