Ask your boss to issue a 1099. If your "boss" requires you to act as an employee, then your "boss" is in violation of reporting practices.

After reading this you will understand the "benefit" your employer gains from not paying social security, or Medicare, or withholding your taxes.
What form of payment have you received all year? Have you gotten paychecks that show withholding? If not, then you are self-employed and you will be paying 100% of Social Security, Medicare and Taxes.
Hopefully you have kept a careful record of all out-of-pocket expenses incurred to work your job.

Did your boss withhold tax from your paychecks? If he did, then he's going to be in MAJOR trouble with the IRS if he didn't send it in, and give you a W-2 reporting it. If this is the case, call the IRS and report it, and ask them how to proceed.
If no taxes were withheld, didn't you wonder why? If that's the case, then YOU are responsible for keeping accurate records, filing an accurate tax return, and paying taxes.
It is very possible that he SHOULD have taken out taxes but didn't. If that's the case, you both have a problem. Talk to a CPA.

If he paid by cash, it's obvious that he did not report it to the IRS.
He probably paid you from some siphoned cash from his business.
He saved the matching Social Security. If he deducted SSI, income tax and medicare insurance, then he kept those.
If this is the case, you can report the net cash that he paid you on your return and explain that he did not issue a W2.
This will give him a bad case of ulcers. He will end up paying those deductions out of his own pocket. And +++++.
Under the laws he should not be able to retaliate against you. If he does, retain an attorney. You will be well compensated.

It is called "being paid under the table" he paid you cash and didn't take out taxes. It is illegal but benificial to your employer he doesn't have to pay social security for you no workers comp. because he technically doesn't have you for an empoyee. That is not cool
