I wish that my parents had shared or even written down some of the important happenings in their childhoods. It would be interesting to know about their 1st loves, how they liked to visit with their grandparents, aunts and uncles on holidays
and their favorite toys, games, and candy.

Tell me they loved me as a child. I was 21 years old when my mother first said she loved me. I was pregnant at the time and she thought I was going to die, so she told me. It kind of scared me, because she had never said it before and maybe I really was going to die. My dad didn't tell me he loved me until I was in my forties! Even though we know our parents love us, it is still something that needs to be said. I tell my son all the time I love him and he's 36! He's the opposite of me-- very quiet and shy. But now he tells me he loves me too! At least I will leave this world knowing that we both said with our lips what our hearts felt.

Paid for college for me. I worked my way through and it took so long. I'm proud I did it but it would have been so much better if I had been able to graduate when I was young and work longer and perhaps go to graduate school then.

I wish they had've taught me more umm... like life skills, what it's like to live on your own. When I moved out at 19, i didn't know how to balance a check book, i didn't understand how credit cards worked, I didn't even really know how to cook or do laundry.
