I have been feeling tired lately after lunch. I feel really sleepy. I want to put my head down and go to sleep. I have to force myself to keep my eyes open at work during the day, and when I get home around 3pm I'm really exhausted, but I don't do any hard labor. WHY is that???
Will any particular vitamins help? I take a daily multivitamin now.

I've had this problem myself in the past. I took a good hard look at my diet and realized I was pigging out on carbohydrates at lunch time. Try eating less portions and emphasizing protein during the meal. If you eat until you are completely full, more blood will flow to the stomach area to aid in digestion. This will quickly sap your energy. Unfortunately, in the U.S. we don't get an automatic siesta after lunch like they do in Mexico. ;-)

A mid day nap is something that is natural for the body....but in the pursuit of productivity increase we tend not to take the rest that our body needs. (Europe has Siesta...we have NOTHING)

Solution:

Eat a light lunch...(outside in summer if you can)...then after an hour get some green tea...or perhaps a piece of chocolate (sugar)

You could also put your head down for 5 mins...this really helps

you're tired while your body is digesting food. its normal, but if you don't want to gain weight, contiue to stay active. because its when you're still, your food settles and turns to fat.
