Chavez continues to fall in the footsteps of past dictators like Saddam, Ahmadinejad, and Castro. Does he not realize he is biting the hand that feeds his country? With Citgo owned by the Venezuelan government, is it not time for Americans to stop fueling at Citgo?

I get this e-mail so often and reply, trying to explain everything to the forwarder.

If you wish to boycott Citgo because of Cesar Chavez's behavior then why not continue the boycott to the former owners of Citgo who sold it to Venezuela and caused this whole problem.

7-11's parent company, Southland Corp., sold Citgo to Venezuela. Prior to the sale 7-11 was convicted in Florida for milk price fixing to schools. Southland Corp. also owner Velda Farms, 7-11's dairy arm.

Don't forget Citgo is marketing their product under a different name in some areas. If you see a Petro Express, it's another name for Citgo.

The wording of your question shows the degree to which you have been indoctrinated, and your ignorance of the facts, as well as the length to which you have accepted the propaganda of the war-loving and democracy-hating elite opinion in this country Chavez is not a dictator. Further, he was democratically elected and has growing support among his fellow citizens, and his administration is the most popular in ALL of the Americas. Too bad we can't say the same for our Administration. No one is forcing the US to buy oil from Venezuela. The fact that Citgo is owned by the government only means that it is owned by the people, not by some private corporation which can hide its criminal and exploitative activities behind closed boardroom doors, a much more democratic arrangement than in the US. I, for one, will continue to buy my fuel at Citgo, and encourage everyone else to do so.

ABSOLUTELY! They work at teaching their people to hate Americans. And Chavez is so mean and hateful with his remarks against America. Although have you seen the new ads on TV from Citgo showing how much they have helped the American people. Makes me what to throw something at the TV.

No. Chavez has done more for Americans than w has! Also he speaks the truth about our government and if the truth hurts, don't punish him for it- punish our government.

There is no Citgo around here but if there was I'd go there.

I think Americans should not only boycott Citco, but organize a mass boycott of all gas stations for one week. It's the only way to get the prices down.

Chavez has his little organzation to financially rape the American people. Castro is in on it.

The CEO's of Standard Oil have their little organizaiton to financially rape the American people.

Bush and his gang of globalists have their little organization to financially rape the American people.

Nigerian spammers have their little organizations to financially rape the American people. I get e-mails from them all the time attempting to get my banking information.

I think it's time American people started slapping all hands in their pockets grabbing for their money. The oil people, WalMart, who cater more to their profits then their customers, the feds, as well as H&R Block type tax preparers who charge far too much money for their services.

While we are at it, lets slap the hands of the Mexicans who invade our country and demand voting rights and social security benefits, while remaining citizens of Mexico.

Sure, they'll just sell their stuff to Shell or Phillips or BP. A lot of good a boycott will do as long as we are still driving and buying. We have a lot more important things to worry about than a big mouthed South American President.

If they sell cheap gas, no. Pulling Citgo out of the United States will hurt Venezuela far more than it will hurt the U.S.
