Well, you could get skin cancer, my mom is having to deal with that now because she got too much sun when she was young, but if you've damaged your skin to that point, there's nothing you can do about it now. That sort of damage has already been done. All you can do now is to apply moisturizers to keep the skin as soft as possible. Good luck.

Lay in a tub of cool water with a little bit of vinegar in it to cool the burn. If it's too painful to lay in the tub, gently run cool water over your body with the shower. When you get out, put Aloe Vera gel on your burned areas. Either use gel directly from the plant, or go to the store & get a gel product with a high % of Aloe. Don't put any occlusives (lotions or creams that contain any oils and trap heat in the skin) on the burned areas for a few days. A sunburn is essentially a radiation burn, and continues to develop after you've gotten out of the sun, so you should concentrate on cooling your skin and applying aloe gel now.
If the burn begins to blister or you develop a fever or feel ill, you should see a doctor.
Of course, from now on you should wear protective clothing and a hat if you have to be out in the sun.

There is this stuff in a gell called Alo Vera or it has Alo Vera in it and that will help your sunburn. If you are blistering, then you might concider contacting your doctor for more advice.
I believe there is some kinda proof out there that says you can get skin cancer from prolong exposure to the sun without any type of protection like sunblock. You can get sick/dehydration from sun over-exposure so keep drinking fluids like water or Gatorade.

It will increase your chances for skin cancer, and it's possible you could develop sun poisoning...
In the meantime, when I had really bad burns (and yes, I did eventually develop melanoma), I found the most relief from applying aloe gel to the burn...especially refrigerated aloe gel. From what I hear from friends in the nursing profession, there is a better ointment out there they stock in the ER, but for the life of me, I can't recall what it is.

Treat your sunburn with Solarcaine spray, if they still sell it. It really cools the affected areas. Too much sun exposure can lead to skin cancer. (melanoma) Take care of your skin from this day forward & always use suncreen when outdoors. Wear a hat too as it keeps the skin from being overexposed to the sun & your hair from drying out.

I know this sounds odd but my daughter uses mustard. Yes the kind you eat. She burned her hand at work once and the owner covered it with mustand. She said it took the sting out. You could also try aloe vera. It is very good. You can buy it at department stores.

You should never go outside without sunblock. It will affect you in your later life. There are many treatments, but you can use aloe vera plant to ease the pain.
