It is my feeling that senate democrats are the best friends the Taliban and Al Quaeda have. I wonder whether those groups paid the democrats to put this to the vote. It is obvious that those democrats who voted that way are traitors to the US

I guess I should mention that I was one of those betrayed by the US government during Nam. A Meritorious Service Medal, three Purple Hearts and I think that gives me the right to state my opinion. Iraq WILL be another Nam because of gutless politicians. Again.

Actually, they have been "compensated". Unfortunately, this has been completely ignored because of media bias on the alphabet networks...along with numerous other election concerns. Come to think of it, most of the facts are lost or buried if they may have a negative impact on the Democratic Party's candidates. Back on track...there were untold $millions dumped into Democratic Parties candidates "war chests" before the last elections by Muslim organizations and individuals, some of the money tied directly back to groups that support Al Queda, etc. Of course the radical Muslim community wants the U.S. out of Iraq (and the Middle East) as promoting freedom, opportunity and equality are inconsistent with Muslim beliefs. Unfortunately for the U.S., so do most Democrats in elected or appointed political positions. True freedom means no government at all. As government policies and the jobs, etc. to support them increase, freedom is eroded away at about the same rate. Consider this, the 1932 American Socialist Party's entire platform is now law in the U.S. The Socialist Party no longer exists as a viable organization in this country because it's membership has shifted to the Democratic Party. Presidents like FDR and LBJ have done more damage to us than 99% of Americans are aware. FDR stole our lucrative voluntary retire plan (we'd retire as millionaires) and turned control of our monetary system over to a private corporation. LBJ created numerous Entitlements that forced legalized slavery upon most Americans. The list goes on and on... Bottom line, Democrats don't care about the Constitution or the Country or they'd support them by embracing them rather than their own cravings for money, power, control. Prove this to yourselves, read the Constitution and then review their proposed and enacted legislation...they conflict almost 100%.

It is disingenuous. The Dems are doing this for political reasons knowing full well the pres will veto it. Then they can say the republicans are war-mongers with no good solution to get us out of Iraq. But the Dems solution won't work either since the various groups that hate us will only wait until the day we leave to go in and cause more problems.

What is truely unfortunate - and disturbing - is how ignorant the majority of americans are regarding this issue. The press will certainly side with the Dems (maybe not FOX News), and the people will only hear a tiny bit of what the reality would be if the dems got there way. But, since most of us want out, the people will vote for another mostly useless person to be president. Keep this in mind: none of the current candidates will do anything to make our lives better. They are all career politicians who's sole job is to keep their jobs.

Iraq is a mess. To fix it we need multi-lateral talks with all the nations in the area. The Bush administration should be trying to get this done....

You are officially a f**king idiot.

Report me if you like, but it's a fact.

If you remove your head from your buttocks for even a split second, you will see that our soldiers are in the middle of an increasingly violent civil war. It is not a matter of 'sticking it out' - these people have been killing each other over their stupid religious beliefs for thousands of years now, and will continue for the next thousand (short of someone nuking the entire middle east).

You have been listening to too many of these self-proclaimed 'geniuses' the right uses to promote their latest propaganda. The war isn't going to follow us home if we leave. Terrorism only works because it is always used when you least expect it, and then after a nation gets attacked, it goes on red alert and the people end up doing exactly what the terrorist group wants them to do - panic, and spread terror.

Everyone was convinced there would be another attack after 9/11. This country has spent over 1/2 trillion dollars in Iraq/Afghanistan (not including the money spent in this country on added security and anti-terrorism measures), and we haven't even made a dent in global terrorism - in fact if you actually look at the reports coming back from multiple government sources, we are increasing support for terrorism worldwide through our badly handled invasion and occupation of Iraq.

You can call me a whiny anti-american liberal democrat (none of which is true) if you like. The fact is, this group of bumbling morons and ideologues in the White House right now are responsible for wasting more money and American lives - and without anything to show for it. Saddam got deposed, which was a noble goal, but for some reason everything didn't magically get better afterwards.

Go figure.

I don't think they are traitors, any more than the Republicans are. However, I think they are mislead and ignorant of history. I am not a Republican or a Democrat. I am not really fond of war. I hate politics and don't trust politicians - though they are a necessary evil in the present.

However, if we were to leave without getting the job done, we will have to go back in a few years. It will be a lot worse. In fact it may escalate to proportions near uncontrollable.

World War 1 led to World War 2 due to the oppressive treatment of the Germans as a result of the peace treaty. Hitler was evil and wrong, but he told the people who were tired of being oppressed what they wanted to hear. The rest is history. If we are not careful, something similar will happen in the middle east. We must not pull out until the job is done, no matter how long it takes. Hopefully, it will be sooner than later, but it must be done right.

The Senate Democrats, the Taliban and Al-Quaida are in no way, shape or form friends;I personally believe that both Democrats and Republicans are traitors to the US.Noone paid the Democrats to vote in favor of withdrawal of troops by the Senate. The war in Iraq is being won by the Iraqui insurgents, not the US troops;the sooner we pull out and cut our losses, the better off we'll be.

I agree with you. The Congress has taken a giant leap beyond their constitutional powers and Nancy Pelosi has taken partisanship to a whole new level. Whatever their differences with the President may be, they should never put political retribution before the good of the country and the good of the armed forces in time of war.

You should try reading the Constitution sometime.
Or at least read the bills you are mentioning.

First, the Senate set recommended withdrawal dates, which Bush can legally ignore if he wants. It was the House that set mandatory withdrawal dates in their version.

But that's all beside the point. Congress has sole authority to allocate funds as they see fit. That's their Constitutional right and obligation. So, Congress is doing what the Constitution requires them to do, and what the majority (70%) of the population wants them to do.

As far as the irrational assertion that the Taliban would care, the Taliban is in Afghanistan. Not Iraq. So, pulling out of Iraq allows MORE troops to be sent after the Taliban. So, they probably hate the idea of Iraqi withdrawal.

It's sad that you think Congress doing is job is traitorous.
But you're probably one of those that thinks Bush should just be crowned supreme leader and be done with it. So sad.

I strongly disagree with your assessment. The best support we can give our troops is to get them out of playing referee for a civil war. The people voted the democrates into office last November to do exactly what they have done. Let's get the troops home and deploy them on the border to afford some real protection for the United States.

Sounds to me like another "loyal-bushie" spinning the truth for its own personal satisfaction. What do you not understand that spending American tax dollars here in the U.S. would benefit the Americans more than spending it on graft an corruption in Iraq? Take all those billions and billions of dollars and fortify the U.S. from the Taliban, Al Quadeda and illiegal immigrants, which means the dollars stays in the U.S.

The democrats are all wannabe Generals. Some voted because of the pork they are getting. Others because of anti Bush no matter what they will throw up road blocks for him. History will not be nice to them.
