I applaud you for standing up and speaking your heart and convictions! It is appalling to see youth give in to peer pressures the most sacred of choices, your body , just to be popular or accepted.
It isn't easy to stand up against others negative comments, but, you'll find a strength within you for doing, you never otherwise would..
As for being afraid of sex.. your 16.. that would be natural to some degree. there isn't a girl who got pregnant from first time sex, that didn't want to, that isn't wishing perhaps she hadn't had. Or, who ended up with a STD. Remember AIDS is still out there..
It changes you.. You , become open to a new world.. a world of grown up responsibilities that many aren't even as adults ready to truly handle.
Have you seen an GYN doctor yet? .. at 16 my daughter did, and lucky too. she had a medical problem that otherwise we would not have known, and in marriage would have caused her a lot of problems. She had surgery and everything went great from then..
Sex is a deeply personal thing , not a locker room conquest to brag over.. do you really want that kind of mentality being spoken about you?
I think not..
Your parents must be great people to have instilled in you such values.. good going!
I do recommend you talk to your mom regarding.. remember she wasn't always a mom, she too was a teenager once.
My best to you.. Your doing the right thing in waiting..

That is a very smart thing. Because many men wil brag about having sex but have not done it. Also it is normal to feel scared of afraid. You need to feel comfortable and be able to trust the person. Sex before marrige can lead you down some bad paths. you do not need an std or baby on the way in high school/ I support your choice

NO its not wrong to want to wait till marriage or till you are with someone for a long time. it doesn't make you a punk. nowadays there are so many of us young girls getting pregnant and end up with stds its ridiculous. the point is you need someone who will be clean and also treat you right. it's not something you want to regret. I know what I am saying because that used to be me. I always said I was going to wait either till marriage or until I am with someone for a long time. It didn't really work out that way but I am okay with it because The person was clean someone I care for and he cares for me too. I knew in my heart he will be nice to me and that even if we didn't end up together in the end that I wont regret it because I did it with someone who treated me right the first time and who cares for me. Things and feelings change so maybe his or mine will or wont but in that moment it was real and true. I just lost my virginity at 19 i will be 20 in sep. I believe it was 3 weeks ago. I was the last of my friends to lose my virginity but I didn't care because when your time comes it will come it shouldn't be forced on you by other people. doing that will make you regret it. I wish you the best and if anything you are more than welcome to contact me.

Don't listen to those twits. Go with your own feelings...it's your body ain't it?
Don't let ANYBODY influence u away from what u feel u should do.
And another thing...
Guys respect chicks who respect themselves like u do. So nix on the idea that no one will want to have sex with u when you're ready.
You're gonna find a good guy by being strong and true to your ideals.
And those who brag about how much they did it and all....well, most guys call those SLUTS! Sorry, but it's true.

Its a good thing to wait until you get married before having sex. Don't listen to the others because you are the only one who has to live with your decisions not them. From reading your question you should spend your extra time learning to spell and study so that you can get a decent job when you grow up.

The people that are picking on you are the people that are going to regret their decisions later. The people who will get pregnant by the time they are 18. The ones who will get STDs. They have no right to make you feel bad for your decision. When its right its right. One of my b/fs didnt have sex until he was 25 and it was all the more special for him because he did wait. If your not ready dont worry. Its none of their business what you do with your life anyways :)

Talk about peer pressure! Your not wrong for wanting to wait it's a personal decision and that's fine. Don't let anyone tell you any different. It's okay to wait until your ready or when you get married. Not everyone is having sex. Just be sure to protect yourself when you ready.

i think you should stick with what you decided. im 21 and have been dating a guy for almost a year now, we are talking about getting married. i'm a virgin (having made the same decision to wait until marriage), he is not. he tells me all the time how he regrets having had sex before me and how he wishes our wedding night was going to be his first time too. it also hurts to know he has had sex with another girl. so stick to your guns cuz you may otherwise regret it later! if you have more questions, need encouragement (i know how hard it is to stick to that decision), etc. feel free to e-mail me boardtroll7@yahoo.com

NO! that is not wrong at all. a guy that is worth it will wait for u for how ever long it will take. most of the time they just want a booty call. u now how guys are. and then u'll feel bad in the end because it ment nothing. so its good tat u wait till u feel the time is right.
