Ok ever since i was young i've had trouble retaining info, i'd be in calls the only one listening to the teacher and can't remember what she said even though i was paying attention.
I have trouble making eye contact therefor people assume i'm lying to them when i talk.
Concentration people take for granted i can't concentrate to save my life, i find myself dazing off to la la land thinking about other things even though i'm watching t.v (trying). people catch me zoned out staring out the window.
I have way too much energy at work they think i'm on speed!
My jobs have suffered from this because my bosses have to teach me things hands on (visually) in order for me to learn or retain the info.
The only time i'm able to concentrate while driving is if i have radio blaring which makes no sense.
Please any advice i'm soo sick of this.
I'm not stupid and people think i am because they have to keep telling me how to do stuff.
Serious answers please

It could be ADHD, but it sounds to me more like an auditory processing issue. If you're a visual learner, this is likely because you have some difficulty processing information you take in through hearing. I'd first get a complete audiological exam to rule-out hearing difficulties and if that's inconclusive, head for a neuropsychological evaluation to determine you're learning strengths and weaknesses. You may be the type of person that needs to see things to process them...hence the head turning while listening (this shows you're accessing a different portion of your brain than others do while listening!!)

get two glasses and fill one half full of water and then fill the other to the top. leaving a half inch to the top. place one in each palm and then walk across the room. sit them down and try and remember which one of them lost the first drop of water.
it will only take about two or three trips to solve your problem.
This answer may sound off beat but it works. You will know when your are cured because then you will also be able to remember how you were able to stand a glass full of wate, upright in each hand. good luck

Sounds like a learning disability, whic doesn't amke you stupid. Einstein and Edison both had learning disabilities. A physical therapist, occupational therapist and a developmental psychologist can help you develop ways to compensate for the challenges you have.
Best wishes!

Is it possible your mother drank alcohol while pregnant with you?
I'm not trying to be rude, it's just that some of these behaviours can be caused by mild fetal alcohol affect.
If you feel like your senses are turned up louder than other people's, that too can be a sign.
You could go and get a physical and psychological assessment to see if there is really something going on. If it's not what I suspect, they may find another cause that can be helped.
Don't just tolerate this, take action to help yourself in a concrete way.
Best of luck to you.

You probably do have ADD. You can also do memory exercises too to help you retain things. There's actually a game for the nintendo DS that's called BrainAge and 15 minutes per day using it is supposed to help you think faster and improve your memory. A friend of mine says that its helping her.
If memory exercises don't work, then you should probably see a doctor. You might also want to consider some type of herb. I think ginseng is supposed to help with memory.

I hope that this web site has what you are looking for. I didn't pick one out specifically, but then again I figured that you should know which one to pick better than me. There are quite a few to go through, best of luck! Get better soon!

Have you ever looked at your diet? Do you eat very healthy, balanced meals or do you load up on sugary foods, cereals, caffeine, soda, skip breakfast, eat too much junk, etc? You can't have a calm, focused brain if you're feeding yourself junk, or skipping meals.

I think you may have Attention Deficit Disorder Syndrome. You should have a check-up with a doctor to confirm. He will probably put you on medication to control it. Hope this helps!

Maybe, you have adult ADHD. They have books on that sort of thing or it might be something in your genes, like high metabolism. You should talk to a doctor or a therapist about it, see if they can help you.
