VOLUNTEER!!!!!
I do every chance I get. My latest is the MDA lock up. Check into it. It is a fun time. They have them all over the US. Also, the Big Brothers and Big Sisters needs volunteers.

Do something you are passionate about and apply it to society. Say, for instance, you are good at writing short stories. Go to a hospital and read them to the sick children, or read them in a nursing home to the residents.
All I'm saying is, take a look at your life and what you really like to do and what your talents are. You can use that to make other people's days a little bit brighter.

i wonder the same thing my good man, and have come to understand that there is an uncountable amount of things you can do to make an impact, Ambition is the key, and asking a question such as this on yahoo answers is an excellent start, that is what i did, and what I'm still doing. Enjoy

It all starts by getting involved. You can make the most impact in your community doing things that you like to do. Your volunteer center can help you find specific community projects and non-profit agencies in your local area to help you make an impact in your community.
Here are some links to help you get started:

Through my volunteer center, I tutor children at the library, enrich arts and culture by helping visitors at the local museum, work at the local food bank, children's shelter, and clean our neighborhoods, parks, and beaches. There's a lot more different projects that your volunteer center can help you find in your local area.
Good luck!

join your local Jaycees chapter and volunteer your time. Not only will it make a big impact on your community, the Jaycees also are a great organization that teaches young people leadership skills through the projects that they run.

Become a social worker, donate your time and money to others. Volunteer as much as you can, recycle all that you can. Plant a tree, and have others do the same.
