Sorry sport, but I can't imagine any wife that wants to eat at home on her birthday! Especially since she'd probably have to do all the cleanup.
Take her out to a really nice restaurant, and the devil with the expense. Order some nice wine and really romance her...make her feel special on her special night.
The cooking her dinner at home thing purely sucks!
I should know, I'm a wife.

Linguine Con Vongole
Serves: 4-6
Ingredients
1 pound dry linguine
1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
4 garlic cloves, sliced
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
2 pounds clams, scrubbed and rinsed well
3/4 cup dry white wine
1 lemon, juiced
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
Sea salt
Freshly-ground black pepper
2 handfuls fresh flat-leaf parsley, finely chopped
2 tablespoons toasted and fried bread crumbs (optional)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Method
Prepare the sauce while the pasta is cooking to ensure that the linguine will be hot and ready when the sauce is finished. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil, add the pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until tender yet firm (as they say in Italian "al dente.") Drain the pasta well.
Meanwhile, heat the olive oil over medium flame in a deep saute pan with a lid. Add the garlic and red pepper flakes; saute for 2 minutes. Add the clams, wine, and lemon juice.
Cover and cook, shaking the pan periodically, until all the clams are opened, about 7 minutes. Discard any that have not opened.
Turn the flame up to medium-high heat. Add the hot, drained linguine to the pan; add the butter and season with salt and pepper. Toss the pasta with the clams to it's nicely coated. Shower with chopped parsley and toasted bread crumbs. Drizzle with a nice dose of olive oil before serving. Serve with a Nice Pinot Grigio it compliments the dish or you can even serve with any other White Wines as long as there Dry ... Then add a Nice tossed Salad and some Sourdough Bread if you have it available i know a lot of States don't have that but in California its as basic as White Bread and maybe for Dessert something light like Fresh Strawberrys with some sour cream on the side dish with brown sugar . Dip the Strawberries in the sour cream then dip in the Brown Sugar and enjoy !! :) ..... If you dont care for Clams you can Subsitute with Prawns ...

Filet Mignon with Garlic Mustard Sauce Recipe
Tender filet mignon steaks are served with a tantalizing garlic mustard pan sauce enriched with shallots, wine, and cream.
INGREDIENTS:
4 beef tenderloin steaks (filet mignon), 1-1/2 inches thick (6 ounces each)
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
1 Tablespoon butter
1/4 cup finely chopped shallots
2 large cloves garlic, minced
1/3 cup red wine
1/2 cup beef broth
1/3 cup heavy or whipping cream
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
Chopped chives for garnish
PREPARATION:
Rub Worcestershire sauce on both sides of filet mignon steaks evenly, then sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Heat a large heavy skillet over high heat until very hot, but not smoking. Add 1 tablespoon butter and filets. Brown steak 7 minutes on one side, then turn and cook an additional 7 minutes on the other side to medium-rare doneness. (Turn only once.) Remove filet mignon steaks and keep warm while preparing the sauce.
To the same undrained skillet, add the shallots and garlic, stirring for 30 seconds. Carefully pour in the wine and stir, scraping up the browned bits from the bottom, about 1 minute. Add broth and bring to a slow boil. Cook for 1 minute, then add heavy cream and cook until sauce begins to thicken, 3 to 5 minutes. Whisk in Dijon mustard until smooth. Return steaks to pan, turning to cover both sides with sauce, and warm 1 minute.
Serve pan sauce over warm filet mignon steaks and sprinkle with chopped chives.
Yield: 4 servings

Individual Beef Wellingtons
Makes 4
Ingredients
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil, plus extra for the pan
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
1 shallot, chopped
1/4 pound button mushrooms and stems, cleaned and finely chopped in food processor
house seasoning [or coarse salt]
freshly ground black pepper
2 tablespoons dry cooking sherry
4 tournedos of beef filet mignon, 1 inch thick
4 ounces mousse de foie gras or favorite pâté
1 sheet frozen prepared puff pastry, 11 by 17, defrosted
1 whole egg, beaten with an ounce of water
Method
Preheat oven to 425°
Heat a small skillet over medium heat. Add oil, butter, shallot and chopped mushrooms. Season mushrooms with salt and pepper and sauté 5 minutes. Add sherry to the mushrooms and let the liquid evaporate. Remove mushrooms from the heat.
In a nonstick skillet over high heat, sear meat 2 minutes on each side in a drizzle of oil. Remove skillet from the heat and season meat with house seasoning [or salt and pepper].
Cut pâté into 4 pieces, 2 ounces each sliced in 1/2 horizontally. Spread the puff pastry sheet out on to a cookie sheet covered with parchment paper. Quarter the dough with a sharp knife. Roll each piece of dough into a 10 x 6 inch rectangle. On each rectangle of dough, place 1/4 of the cooked mushrooms.
Top mushrooms with 2 ounces mousse and 1 tournedo of beef. Wrap dough up and over the meat. Seal the dough with egg wash and trim excess. Use leftover dough bits to make decorative garnishes for the tops of your Wellingtons. Turn the wrapped Wellingtons over and cover with egg wash using a pastry brush. Affix dough garnishes with egg wash.
[For a simple decoration, roll dough bits into long, thin spaghetti like strings and create swirls on each Wellington].
Bake beef Wellingtons 10 minutes or until golden.
Let stand 5 minutes, and then serve.
