I ask this because our media tend to paint Iran and her people in a very bad light. The following is an excerpt of comments made by the female British soldier.

Captured Female U.K. Sailor Shown on Iran Television (Update1)
By Nick Allen and Mark Deen

March 28 (Bloomberg) -- A female U.K. sailor who was among a group of Britons seized by Iranian forces in the Persian Gulf was shown on Iranian television today.

Faye Turney, 26, wearing a black headscarf and smoking a cigarette, said her group had ``obviously trespassed'' into Iranian waters before their capture on March 23. The Iranians had been ``friendly and hospitable,'' she said.

``They were thoughtful, nice people and they explained to us why we had been arrested. There was no aggression, no hurt, no harm. They were very compassionate,'' Turney said.

Here is the link for the whole story:

The Iranians gave coordinates of where they were captured, which were the same the British gave. Those coordinates were in Iraqi waters. The Iranians then gave new coordinates that were in Iranian waters. So I think it is more likely they weren't trespassing, but mistakenly captured.

But I would tend to believe that they are treating them respectable and just using them as political leverage, not harming them.

As a SERE School graduate... it's amazing how quickly a pre-interview beating and a few folks standing off camera with weapons can convince you to read a prepared statement or false-confession. Just LOOK at their faces in that bit of video when they're being fed...

This was the Iranian Revolutionary Guard... a bunch of lunatics and criminals. NOT their Navy, which is rather professional.

I'll accept the Brits GPS data, and await their release and their stories of treatment when they can speak FREELY.

If they HARM those Marines / Sailors... I'm MORE than willing to go back... I helped sink the Joshan on April 18, 1988, and I'm ready to sink the rest of their "navy"

Yeah that is this type of physically powerful theory, enable's start up yet another conflict, fairly while the single we are in now's popping out so properly. The commander would have reported he became no longer contained in the incorrect place whether he became, till actual evidence comes out that the warriors weren't in Iranian waters, enable's no longer bypass leaping into yet another erroneous conflict. inspite of each thing, a pair of months in the past the U.S. took Iranian diplomats from their very own consulate in Iraq on costs they have been providing insurgents, of direction they have been released after the expenses have been stumbled directly to be bogus, although that's an analogous subject and no one ought to attack everyone else.

You don't think that statement was at all coerced? You think it was all her words entirely as she saw it? Your kidding right?

People say and do whatever their captives tell them to say and do whenever they are in fear for their life.

If I had a gun to your head and told you to tell people your ok and everything is great, I'm feeding you and clothing you etc., I think you would do it!

Furthermore, the Iranians are a bunch of idiots for releasing those photos, videos and letters. Most people, and I say most because you are the exception, understand the big picture and know these photos, videos and letters are the work of coercion.

From your logical standpoint, she just volunteered to wear the hajib, write the letter and appear in front of the camera. Did anyone else notice that she was smoking during the video? As an ex-smoker, I can tell you that this smoke wasn't just a nicotine catch, it was pure STRESS SMOKE!!! What I wouldn't give to be a fly on the wall with a camera to show the real story!

Its amazing that some people believe that crap that gets publicised by people who are being held captive. I f they were so thoughtful nice and compassionate, why do they blindfold them and still hold them captive, instead of handing them back over. GPS Coordinates can confirm where the boat was and determine if the boat was in international waters or not. instead of relying on the words of a captive.

No question in my mind that the female sailor was scared out of her wits and would have publiclly declared that Mickey Mouse made her do it, if she thought that's what her captors wanted to hear. In times past, most civilized nations would declare war on a foreign power that kidnapped its' soldiers in peacetime in international waters. The mullahs are going to get creamed if they don't find a way to gracefully back out of their latest screwup.

Come on, they were coerced into saying those things. We have GPS location coordinates as proof of thier exact location. Even iran reported thier location as being outside of Iranian waters and only afterwards revised thier estimate on thier location so that they would be in Iranian waters. Iran screwed up and captured people that they shoudln't have and now they are trying to play the tough guy and save face by refusing to acknowledge that they were wrong.

Yes I do and if you look carefully at the picture of her against the flowered curtain you can see black and blues. Sweet innocent Iranian Revolutionary Guard would never hurt anyone.

Gee, a woman who was captive said what her captors wanted the entire world to hear.

Yeah, thats a new one.

Objective evidence, GPS, don't lie.

Iranian politicians do.

Do you think being held captive by Islamic gunmen had anything to do with the confession genius
