Intense is what you make it. I have had some very intense tent camping trips. Good friends or family help the experience. State parks, National Forests and Parks as well as private property are all good choices. Backpacking takes camping to another plain. The more you camp the more comfortable you get and that is what makes it fun(intense). Have a blast with it.

I guess it depends on where it's done. If you ever see the movie "the grizzly man", where a guy literally lives, and walks up to Grizzly bears, then you could say Camping is intense. If you hook up your RV To some site, and watch TV and cook, almost like you would at home, I think it would be a stretch to call camping intense.

It can be as intense or as relaxing as you want it. You can camp in a campground with elec. and water and all the amenities or backpack in the wilderness with only what you can carry. It is a personal choice.

it depends on where you go and how you go, camping in a camping trailor is not camping at all, be prepared, bring lots of blankets, waterproof everything get an airmatress and obviously a tent, bring food and you should be fine, oh, and don't forget the bugspray

I would say it is an in tents experience. Get a folding bed to bed down on at night, getting a comfortable sleep is important.

It *can* be. It can be a time of great physical exertion (to get there) followed by relief accompanied by relative isolation and reflection on your role in the world.
On the other hand, it can be, just a party.

Depends where you go. If you go Yurting or to a huge campground it's like staying in a cold motel. If you go somewhere that you have to pack in your supplies it gets a little more intense.

Camping outdoors is alright if you like that sort of thing.
Camping it up is a different thing entirely.
