Bearing in mind that i have no idea about the nature of the lies...
it depends on the lie.
If someone lies when you ask "Did you eat the last of the Doritos?" then it probably means that they don't want to get blamed. No biggie, its a minor matter.
If someone says "I was late coming home from work" and what really happened was they stopped off at the local comic-book store to browse the latest issues of Civil War then its a silly thing to argue about.
If someone says "I'll just be online for a minute more, I am paying some bills" and they are actually talking love-talk with another person then you have a problem.
If you have caught this person in a series of what I call "Fundamental lies" - true falsehoods about 1) Who they are, 2) Who they Love, or 3) Where the money is going then I'd say that three chances were too many.

At some point you have to decide what you will or will not accept in behavior of a partner. To me, lieing is not only disrespectful, it speak to the partners integrity. Is a liar really the type of person you want to be with? Don't accept this treatment. It may hurt at first but move on. Show your partner that you value yourself too much to be lied to again and again.
Fool me once shame on you.
Fool me twice shame on me.
Fool me thrice....leave me be.

Three strikes and you're out. Why try again? If he's an habitual liar, god knows what else he's lying to you about. You can bet there's more you don't know.
Get out while the getting's good. Better to end it on your own terms than wait for another shoe to fall...and that's no lie.

How can you trust him to ever tell you the truth about anything?
If you're going to be this gullible for his lies, he'll keep doing it.

I don't think you can. You can forgive once, but after that, they shouldn't be lying to you about anything. By lying again and again, they've proven that you can't trust them.

Well we are all human being and we are all entitled to make mistakes. You said he lied to you, well it depends on how big of a lie he told.
