You don't want to make your dog not eat - but you can make her feel more full by adding green beans, carrots, or other low calorie veggies to her food. Some breeds just love food and can overeat because they are scavengers, even if she is acting like she is looking for more food she may not be hungry. If you can take her to the vet they can prescribe a weight loss diet - or you can buy a type of food meant for dogs who are trying to lose weight from the store, as long as you check to see it's healthy.
If you love giving her snacks try things like food from natural dog bakeries or carrot sticks, unbuttered popcorn, pretzels - things that arent toxic to dogs but taste good. A long slow walk will also help, or if you aren't up for that taking her to the dog park (make sure you have lots of water) for 20 minutes a couple times a week will help.
Good Luck

What kind of food are you feeding her now? Put her on a weight-loss dog food and measure the amount you are feeding her according to the instructions for her breed/size.
I'd consider upping her exercise instead. Take her for longer/brisker walks. If she already has free run outside, get her involved in some vigorous playtime games of fetch or tag or something. Not only will she have more fun by spending more time with you, but the additional activity is healthy for both owner and pet.

There's no need for meds. There is a drug available from vets to be used in conjunction with diet foods, but it's rarely necessary.
Your vet can provide you with a low calorie, high fibre prescription diet (I used Hills r/d in my weight clinics and its fabulous). This way, your dog can still eat a decent amount but will still lose weight. Cutting down on the amount of 'normal' food you give her will of course get her to lose weight but, as you've found out, she'll be hungry all the time! Also you don't want her to lose weight too quickly - about 1% of her bodyweight a week is about right.
See the following website link from Hills Pet Nutrition for the scientific way to diet an animal:

Good luck!

This should be posed to your vet but, as with people, diet and exercise are better options than medication.
There are a number of good low-fat dog treats available. You can also consider a food that is lower in fat and carbohydrates and higher in protein. This dropped five pounds off my dog (47 lbs at the time) without any additional exercise. Increasing her exercise when the weather warmed up dropped another two pounds.

It's actually very simple. Get her on a better diet and exercise schedule. Take her for walks, starting out short and slow, excelling to longer ones. Consider the amount of food you are feeding her. Cut that amount in half, and supplement the rest of the amount with salt-free canned green beans. (For example, if your dog eats 2 cups normally, give him 1 cup of dog food and 1 cup of beans.) Green beans are used often to full up their tummies, but they're made of completely empty calories. The dogs wont be sad that they're getting less food, because they're getting just as much!

Why don't you give it more exercise!
Get a little harness, leash up the pup and go outside and take a nice long walk/jog with it!!
Or, if you have one in your area, take it to the dog park for an hour or so a day.
Putting chemicals into your dogs body is NOT the answer!

Try adding some canned unsalted green beans to the dog's food. I use the 'french-cut' type because they mix better with the food - my dog LOVES them, she thinks it's a great treat, and it helps her feel more satisfied and full, without adding a lot of calories.
Dividing you dog's daily food portion into two meals will help too, helping him or her to keep a sustained level of energy through the day. It's also healthier for large-breed dogs to eat two meals instead of one, because it reduces the chance of them suffering from gastric torsion (a turned stomach, from being active after eating a large meal - very dangerous).

It's in your control. You have to exercise that dog more. and reduce the food at feeding time bit by bit. Don't leave food out. Leave it for 10 mins and if they don't eat it pick it up.
Avoid medication - this is just a calorie issue.

You want to starve your dog so it loses weight? If she does not eat, she will get sick from not getting nutrition. Feed her a better quality food and take her for walks.

First of all take you dog to the vet and see if it is really overweight. If so , there are different types of dog food you can purchase to help.
