look for a dry wine... dry wines have very low residual sugar content - hence the dry moniker.
Dry Red - Cabernet or Merlot
Dry White - Chardonnay

Is it okay to drink wine while on the popular Atkins' Diet?
In the beginning weeks of the Atkins' Diet it's best to stay away from any alcoholic drinks. This is the induction phase. The basic process of fermentation is converting the natural sugars in grapes to alcohol. Ripe grapes are full of natural sugars.
After the beginning of your diet, during your ongoing weight loss, it is best to stick to lower alcohol wines. The Atkins site states, "Alcohol does not act as a carbohydrate so it will not interfere with burning fat in the same way that sugars and other carbohydrates do." A 3 1/2 ounce glass of wine contains about 4.3 grams of carbohydrate. Alcohol can also start a craving for sweets.
Stay away from Sangria, ports and brandies. Sweet wines should be labeled as such.
But, what can you drink? Old world wines are your best bet.
Try a Chateau Les Grands Marechaux 2000 Cotes De Blaye, from Bordeaux, France. It is a great, friendly wine, with a delicate body. Expect to pay about $15.00.
Another, alternative Bordeaux is the Chateau Sainte Colombe 2000 Cotes de Castillon. A rich blend of A blend of 70% merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc. I like the sweet fruit flavors to satisfy my cravings. You can keep this wine aging for another 4-5 years.
If you must have a white, try the Chateau des Oliviers, Premieres Cotes de Blaye. This white Bordeaux has the impression of a full bodied red wine. It's luscious, velvety, and will leave a rich, round impression in your mouth. Expect to pay about $10.
If dining at a friend's and the only offering is a sweet wine you may choose to turn it into a wine spritzer with club soda. Bring a bottle with you.

All wines have sugars.
Chardonnay (a dry or oaky one such as Cakebread) has 3 carbs per glass.
Red wines have higher carbs, like 10.
Since you are on Atkins, stick to chardonnays.

That's impossible. All wine has some kind of sugar. But stick to dry wines, and it is minimal.

while you're new to wine you need to attempt Ruinite Lambrusco, that's good yet is going properly with italian nutrition. in case you desire something in ordinary terms a sprint drier, yet nonetheless a sturdy, easy, basic to drink bottle, attempt Zenato Valpolicella, that is scrumptious. and then, of direction, Chianti is a classic adventure, yet bear in mind, that is drier. Davinci makes a sturdy chianti.
