Just as gravity, electricity, and magnetism exist whether or not you believe in them, so God should exist whether or not anyone believes in him. The difference is, we have loads of evidence for the existence of gravity, electricity, and magnetism, and none for God. If he exists, he's doing a darn good job of hiding.

Your question is self-centered, because ultimately you do not want anything and any being to intefere with your actions. Anything that you see as intefering in your way of life, you will label as unjust and unfair and hence unnecessary. You are asking such a question because you are trying to justify to yourself something. Have you ever asked yourself why???
If you want to know whether God exists, then do your own research based on reason. Look into life and the universe, and c how it began. Has it ever been possible that something is created out of nothing? That's why belief is a choice, and you are responsible for the choices you make.
To answer your question, your belief would only matter to you. God is not going to be hurt, nor is He going to gain anything or lose anything based on the choices you make. What you choose, it is you who will reap. Why would God do this? Only God may know the answer, but I can only gues.
First, God is giving you a choice and you are refusing. Secondly, here's a story to ponder. Imagine you give your daughter a house, a good life, a car, a good job, lots of friends, and money since ure wealthy. Then she decide to kick you out of the house and forget about you because she feels you intefere with her way of life. You are only trying to help her because you see the path she is leading will ultimately destroy her. Your are still wealthy btw, and if you so choose, u could so easily take away so many of her possessions. But you don't want her to love you because of what you provide, but you want her to love you because of how you are. Question, how would you treat her from that point onwards?
Remember that even if one disbelieves in God, God is still providing for them in so many ways, and He is the ultimate forgiver, cause God is the most merciful most gracious.
Hope you find peace within your heart, instead of trying to impress yourself and others with your feelings and mind. As you grow, you will realize none of this matters, what really matters is personal growth and development. Good luck!

God loves you, and wants to show you that. He will be there no matter what you believe or do or say. He's always there and always will be.
Your belief matters because He is looking for YOU to come to Him. He's not asking for your money, just for a relationship with you. He's asking you if you will let Him forgive you for what you have done. It's a very peaceful gesture, one of kindness and mercy. God would like ALL to come to Him and be saved, if you aren't doing that, you are "screwing up the machine" as you put it. He understands you are skeptical, but if you truely seek Him, you will find Him. That's all He wants you to do, be cleaned, and have a personal relationship with Him. That simple.

What do you mean, it doesn't matter?!
God exist whether you believe him or not. If guzillion people on earth knew there was such thing as water, but you don't since you haven't "seen it" or "felt it" or "tasted it" that means water doesn't exist?
That theory is way wrong. The FACT is, there is a God, His name is Jesus, He did have an earthly ministry, and He is coming back again to take up those people to Heaven who do believe in Him.

I think I get what you're saying: if god exists, it exists whether you believe it does or not. If it turns out that only one religion is correct about what happens, then when someone dies it will be the same whether that's what the person believed or not. Of course, this sort of rational argument gets nowhere with the true believers.

It doesn't matter. I say to each his or her own. But then, you have some extremist people who decide that "spreading the word" of this girl God is necessary for life to be good. I'm just hoping that before I die in this world, religion won't exist anymore.
Assuming "god" does exist, I would probably be adept to ignoring it just like I always do anyways.

God extends an invitation to you ....to learn.
He made it all.
Who else is better placed to talk on the subject?
"Why would my belief matter as long as I'm not scewing up the machine?"
I'm sure you see the contradiction in that.

God will always care about you because He created you.
If you don't believe in God, why do you keep talking about Him all the time? Are you afraid of the possibility that He "might" exist?

My point exactly. It would not matter. In my opinion, I think that God would applaud a person who is capable of independent thought.
