When God created humans, among the many marvelous gifts he gave them was free will. The Bible tells us that God created man in his ‘image and likeness,’ and one of the qualities God has is freedom of choice. (Genesis 1:26; Deuteronomy 7:6) Thus, when he created humans, he gave them that same wonderful quality—the gift of free will.
God also gave us the mental abilities, such as the powers of perception, reason, and judgment, that work in harmony with free will. These enable us to think, weigh matters, make decisions, and distinguish right from wrong. (Hebrews 5:14) We were not created to be like mindless robots that have no will of their own; nor were we created to act primarily out of instinct, as were the animals.
God didn't create you with a brain that can't choose to believe in Him. You choose not to believe in Him. You have the free will to do what you want but the Bible says that those who refuse to believe that He exists and who refuse to acknowledge God’s right to rule his own creation will soon be destroyed. Their lives will be forfeited because they reject the Source of life. But those who appreciatively conform their lives to God’s requirements will have the joy of seeing the earth transformed into a global paradise under a heavenly government of God. They will enjoy all the blessings of which man’s imperfections and misrule have deprived them.—Rev. 21:3-5.

Your brain can choose-it chooses not to. I know you are getting frustrated because I am too. You choose to look at Science as the be-all end-all. It isn't.
Why would my brain believe something different than yours if we are all "the same"? If we are all just the product of evolution, why did my brain choose to believe in God and yours didn't? Could it be possible that God is so big that your brain can't rationalize it? Could it be that maybe you are sub consciously blocking out the possibilities because you are afraid?
By the way, Happy Birthday. My big "35" is in July.

Why would God create me with a brain that can't choose to believe in him and then condemn me for it?
In your knowledge, you have gotten smarter than God. You say , by implication, That God is punishing you because you "can not choose to believe" Isn't that another way of saying "I don't want to believe?" You have made a choice stand up and admit it. God did not choose your position. You made the decision. God will always be there if you decide that intelligence is better when tempered with Gods Wisdom

It is not that your brain was created to reject God but that you have been raised in a culture that does not want to have anything to do with Him. Maybe you were raised in a family that did believe in God, or not, but the big thing going on in the world right now is the belief that man can do anything and that if there is no reason or purpose for God to exist then he must not exist. I mean, man is trying to solve problems that only someone with a bigger intellectual or intelligence would be able to solve just to prove that there is no need for God to exist when we can do anything we want.
I also believe that you do have the choice to choose either way of thinking and that you have the same rules as believers do in their hearts, if not in their brains, because you know that killing someone or insulting someone is not necessarily a good thing.
Good luck on your quest

You do not understand the nature of God. Part of God's nature is that you seek Him out. Because if you seek Him out it is because you believe He exists. This would be called faith. Secondly, your physical mind can not comprehend God or the things of God. But it is with your spirit you can connect to God. Everyone that God puts on this earth has the capability to seek God through seeking Him out if they choose to do so. If you keep looking for God you will find Him trust me. But if you say, I do not want to look for Him, then you have made your own bed. Even the fact that you are writing this site and asking this question shows there is something stirred in you already. Why ask about something you do not believe in? If you seek God and find HIm and recieve His salvation, then the fear of condemnation will leave. The scripture says, "..........perfect love casteth out fear". You when received salvation you recieved the perfected love of God which ensures you will not be condemned. Read also Romans 8:1.

Shouldn't you be asking why God would create you with a brain that CAN choose not to believe in him? He wants you to believe and love (in him) on your own free will, not forced as a robot. He doesn't condemn you. You make the choice, you condemn yourself.

You can't be serious about this holding water in regards to you making a choice? If I walk out my door and a man shoots me in the head, then I did not make a choice. If I see a man outside holding a gun and knows he will shot me and continue to go outside and get shot, I made a choice. Choice is based on information. You have information regarding God and choose not to believe

You are right in the fact that you can't choose. You must have been a Calvinist in a previous life. Why would He condemn you? Because of Adam. God would have been completely righteous if He tossed every one of us into Hell. And we wouldn't have a thing to say about it. Adam represented everyone that came after him. If you were a Calvinist you'd know that though!
Or you can toss God aside, that's your nature. And mine without His direct intervention.

You can choose to believe Him...you just don't want to. If God really made you a brain that forced you to love Him, you'd hate that. You'd feel like a robot, doing everything He says. But He wanted you to love Him freely, not by constraint. It's all because of sin...Sin entered into the world and since then, we have to get right with God. It seems cruel, but God just wants us to freely love Him.

Why do you think you can't choose to believe in him. It sounds like you already do. Just think about this If there is a God and you die without being saved what will happen to your soul. If there isn't than I guess it don't matter then, but WHAT IF THERE IS.
