I am a Jehovah's Witness and we believe that the Bible is the word of God and beneficial for all good things. We believe that God has a personal name as stated in Psalm 83:18 of the King James Version and that Jesus is God's only begotten Son and the only mediator between God and man. We believe that God's plan for the earth and man cannot and will not be thwarted by Satan or Adam and Eve's disobedience. Therefore we believe that the earth will always remain in existance and that soon God's will will be done on it. We believe that the soul is the person or the life that they enjoy and that being said, we believe that when the person dies, the soul dies because the person is the soul. Because of that, we do not believe that hell is a place of eternal torment but, rather, the common grave of mankind. We believe that there is no consciousness after death, unless and until you are resurrected. We believe in 2 resurrections. The first, which has already begun is the resurrection to heaven of those who have been chosen to rule as Kings and Priests with Christ for 1,000 years (Revelation 5:9, 10). The second, will not begin until after Armegeddon (God's war against the wicked). That will include both righteous and unrighteous ones as many who have died have never had the opportunity to choose to do God's will because they did not even know it (Either they died young or never had anyone to teach them). There are many more things and I will be happy to share them with you. Just ask.

People that believe in Jehovah also believe in Jesus.
If you take your bible and read Proverbs 8:22-31 you will see that its talking about Jesus having a beginning, It shows that Jehovah created Jesus as the first thing he did?
To back this thought up read Colossians 1:15-17, Revelation 3:14.
Also look at Revelation 1:1 to see the chain of command that of events regarding this scroll or book.
If you want to learn about religion's then you should try to understand the Bible first. If you have any questions please feel free to ask and I will only point you to scriptures that answer. gem

Just to clear up some misconceptions here about Judaism.. jesus has no place in the religion.. individual Jews can have any opinion they want, but Judaism, the religion, has no place for jesus, and gives no significance to the NT. The existence or lack thereof of jesus as a real person is not an issue to Rabbis, because it does not matter. I personally think he was invented as an amalgam of several popular man gods, in order to sell the religion to those who worshipped the other mangods of the era..

Good for you for having an open mind. It's always good to learn about other faiths.

Check out beliefnet.com sometime. They have discussion boards for a bunch of different faiths so you can learn and share with others. It's neat.

Now, to answer your question - Jehovah is just another name for God. So is Yahweh. You mentioned Judiasm in your question. I am not a Jew, but my understanding is that Jews think Jesus is a prophet, but not the messiah that Christians believe. As to why they believe this, I do not know.

Hope I helped somewhat.

Don't worry - all other christian religions have Jesus harnessed up like a cash cow. They hold Him for ransome like any other. Their prisons are churches with steeples. People go there and give the church money to try to release Him from the prison where men have him hog tied. They will never release Him from the icy tomb - The money is to good.

People who 'believe' in Jehovah should also accept Jesus.
Definitely!
Jehovah is God, the creator.
Jesus was His first creation ....thus meriting the title:
"Son of God."
They are 2 separate and distinct individuals.

I am Christian but not Catholic. I am Protestant, reared as Southern Baptist, but I am beginning to realize that my religious affiliation / denomination is a label that perhaps I have outgrown. As for your question, yes I believe in both Jehova and Jesus. I consider Jehova to be "Father God", the Supreme Being who is the Author and Creator of the Universe and all life within it. I consider Jesus to be the son of Jehova, a divine man who incarnated on Earth to teach us how to love each other and to love Father God.

Yes, I am a Jehovah's Witness and we do believe in Jehovah and Jesus both. We believe that Jesus is Jehovah god's son. Meaning that Jehovah is his father. Jehovah is God, Jesus is his son.
