When I read any Q about why men are pigs or jerks, or why women can be so distrustful or moody, I scratch my head. If a person is really that bitter or jaded towards the opposite sex, what is to be gained by trying to understand them?
I personally think the answer is fairly obvious and wish that people would recognize their own insecurity before engaging in such spirited bashing. I think venting is good, but I worry that some people really take this to heart.
Women can be mysterious and men can be shallow. I say embrace the difference or find someone more suitable.
My two cents.

Our society wants to be political correct. So we are all the same. But we aren't. Women have a totally different thought process then men. There are studies, that women have actually a much higher IQ then men, which can't be measured with conventional test. Men have more muscle mass, different body build, different chemical composition, much higher levels of testosterone. Because of the testosterone, a 18 year old man thinks on average every 5 minutes about sex. That is not a blessing, its a burden, girls can seldom cope with, or abuse. If we want to understand each other, we would have to face some facts first and not try to live in a pink world.
A lot of insults come from the frustration, not understanding each others motives.

Since it's rhetorical, I'm not sure whether you want an answer or not. But here goes.
People make these questions to validate their own negative view of the opposite gender. When we answer, we fed into their own insecurities and negativities. Never are all people in 1 catergory pigs, jerks, distrustful, moody, etc. I am married to the kindest, lovingest, givingest person and I for 1 am not distrustful or moody (well maybe once a month).
Thanks for your 2 cents and allowing my to make it a grand total of 4 cents.

Debating it as particular/no the full time does appear like it ought to have been a distraction.

Well somethings are just not meant to be understood, but out of ones curiosity, they ask questions just to try to get a better understanding. I never really understood half of the things men do, because I am not one. By asking questions I can sometimes learn to empathize with the opposite sex..

You are so right. Your partner isn't perfevt and neither are you. If you can't celebrate and work around your differences, find someone else. Life is too short to spend it arguing or trying to change each other.

They say that behind every ***** is the man who made her that way (and conversely, behind every @$$hole is the woman who made him that way). It's just a result of people being hurt.
Remember that whoever you are dating is human, and therefore imperfect. Don't have crazy expectations for them, be realistic in what you want and need in a relationship.
