Oh Ick Kat! We don't have "no hope!" I have hope in so many things! My children. My little brother. I have hope in humanity in general.
You mean as far as my life goes? I have hope that I will make the world a better place for the people that I love every single day I'm here. I hope that when I die, I have left the world a better place because I was here.
Just because I don't think I get to live "forever and ever" doesn't mean I have no hope! This makes life MORE precious, not less so! It's like Christmas hon. Once you realized Santa wasn't the one bringing the pressies, you didn't think Christmas was a horrible, hopeless lie. You went on and realized the gift was really in YOU giving - not just reaping rewards.
As Douglas Adams said, "Isn't it enough to realize the garden is beautiful without having to believe there are fairies at the bottom of it too?"

What kind of ignorant question is this?
Every human being has hopes. The fact that a person may not follow any religions does not mean they have no hopes. The fact that we do not choose to cling to an ancient cult does not mean we have no hopes. We are regular people just like people who follow religion. (well... i don't think i would consider cult-followers to be normal) We just have different beliefs. That doesn't make us evil or wicked and it doesn't mean that we don't have dreams, or things to look forward to.
We live our lives to the fullest & enjoy all it has to offer. NOBODY knows what waits for us after we die. Religion is the way to help people cope with the thought of death. They THINK they know what lies beyond, but they do not. The religions give them faith & hope in something after death.
I do not know what happens to a person after death. The body rots, but i do not know if the person continues on in some form or if that is the end of existence for that person. The truth is.... NOBODY knows. They believe they know, but they do not know. They have blind faith in what they believe to be right, but none of them know for sure.

I see that the hope for the world is with atheism. Look in history and you can see how many millions and millions of people have died in wars fought for christianity. How many wars have atheists started in world history?
Do some research and you will find out that atheists have fewer numbers in prison. It was noted that they have less of a suicide rate. That is interesting. I have even read that they have a better chance at staying in a marriage and not having a divorce.
I would really like to know. What kind of person do you see an atheist to be (without regards to religion). What do you see in your mind when you think of an atheist? What intelligence? How much education? How are they financially? Do they follow the laws? What do you see in your mind?

No hope? What are you talking about? I possess hope about many things and have many things to look forward to in my life. A belief in some magical, mythical god would not change any of that. When we die we're gone, simple. The energy within our bodies is returned to the earth as we decay and to insects and the like as we are consumed. No great mystery, nothing to fear or dread, a natural act that every living thing shares. Why do the religious minded fear death so much?

Hope is a wonderful thing to hold onto but the way you ask the question suggests your hope is based on reality. You cannot prove you will go anywhere after death so your hope is more of a liability than an asset because you likely sacrafice things in this life based on something you nor anyone in this world can prove.

Atheists do not lack hope. Atheists, in the main well-read and intelligent people, look forward to useful and interesting lives. Most believe that there is no life after death (though some do believe) and consequently, do most of their living now, rather than postponing joy until some speculative heaven.

I have so much hope! I have hope that tomorrow will be a good day. I have hope that if I work hard I will get my book published. I have hope that we can stop polluting our planet. I have hope that we can stop the spread of disease and starvation in impoverished nations. I have hope that if I work hard enough, I can change this planet for the people who come after me. I have hope that educating our children can lead to the end of many of the diseases that are killing us, to the overpopulation of our planet, to racism and intolerance, to fear based hatred. I have hope that one person speaking into the silence can make a difference. I have hope that one person with empathy can heal the wounds caused by ignorance and hatred and greed and bigotry. I have hope that we are not as lost as we seem right now.
I don't know what it's like to not have hope. I get ONE life, and that's IT. I'm going to make it count. I'm going to make things better.

WOW
That an amazing way of generalizing as well as making up in your mind that this is a "legitimate" question.
I would much rather look forward to my amazing life on this earth then plan for an afterlife which doesn't exist.
What a shame you are wasting your short time in life.

Why no hope??? I look forward to every second of every day. After death, we become worm food. It so very sad that you need more than that to be happy. Life on this earth is amazingly wonderful.

just because they don't place hope in GOD doesn't mean they don't have it.
they can hope they make it homw safely,
they can hope thir family will prosper.
The hope is still there, it's just placed differantly
****ADDITION*****
Hey, you'll probably like this
Hope
Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without the words,
And never stops at all,
And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.
I've heard it in the chilliest land
And on the strangest sea;
Yet, never, in extremity,
It asked a crumb of me.
~Emily Dickenson,
I just always like this poem.
Thought I'd sare my HOPE with other's have a lovely day.
