I work in the protective order division in the County Attorney's office. Protective Orders fall under "family violence" so there has to be a familiar relationship such as by marriage, dating, or former members of the same household. So unless you have lived with his ex, you would not qualify for a protective order. There is what is called a "restraining order" where there does not have to be a familiar relationship. The only thing is that you may need to employ a private attorney to file for the restraining order, since it is a civil matter. What we recommend for situations like yours is to get law enforcement involved by making reports for the harrassment as well as any threats from this person. Harrassment is a crime and is punishable by the law, unlike a protective order which is a civil matter. Also I'm not sure how the law works in your state, but here in Texas you can also have a police officer issue this person a criminal tresspass warning when the next time this person comes on your property or to your workplace. She will be arrested, and charged the next time she comes around.

Don't let this call off a wedding! I agree with a restraining order and/or security at the wedding day events. Also, if this girl is a psycho as to put sugar in your tank, you may want to double check all you appointments (incase she *effing* crazy enough to try and cancel them) and double check with all vendors. I would also talk to your priest or who ever is marrying you and explain the situation, and maybe omit that line "speak now or forever hold your peace", incase she does find a way into the ceremony. So mainly, just make sure EVERYONE knows there is some crazy trying to mess things up and not to listen to any changes unless YOU have physically given the O.K. But otherwise I agree with the post up above, I'd kick her a.$$.....but hold you dignity, she is trying to break you.

What does your fiance say about all of this? Is her being supportive or has he turned his back for you to deal with it yourself?
If you are getting married to this man in two months, you will need to make sure that your wedding day does not involve the ex...My best advise is to document everything she has done to you, take her to court and get a restraining order against her for your protection...Who knows she may do anything.

My fiance's ex and mother of his children is crazy too, but if she ever put sugar in my tank, I'd kick her a.ss. But I wouldn't let her or anyone tear me and him apart. The more she tries, the closer to him I would be. Show her that you are in it for the long haul and that she's history and you are his future. Be dignified and don't let her see you sweat.

id talk to your hubby to be about her also and suggest he cut her off an never talk to her again for the things that shes done to you. there's no reason for her behavior and there's no reason why you should put up with it. if shes really insane it be perfectly fine to get a restraining order against her! make her clearly know shes not welcome around either of you! most importantly don't let her damper your high spirits, after all its your wedding and its a happy day! keep positive!
good luck girl!

Yes, protective order. Also have security for your wedding, even if it's just a couple of your relatives on the look-out for her.

I think you need to go to court and file for a restraining order just to be on the safe side. You can't allow her to control your life or your finance's life through fear.
Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!

I would most definantly get a restraining order on her...that way she can't try to mess up your actual wedding day!!
