The Secret, in case you haven't heard, involves the Law of Attraction.. attracting what you think about the most and pulling things into your life that you need by concentrating positively on it. i need to land a job interview and start making money to better the life of my family!! Although positive thinking and believing in ones self is the only way one should be. "The Secret" goes a bit beyond that and leads to more of a superstitious belief in it. Of course religious people are suspicious of it. They aren't allowed the luxury of True positive thinking and they don't really believe in themselves. They'll claim they do, but in the end it's dependent upon their god's will or the idea that without Jesus they are nothing, unworthy, sinners, or some other such nonsense.
