i have dry, frizzy hair so have to use high quality products because the others make my hair worse. i vary but right now am using frederic fekkai apple cider clarifying shampoo to remove buildup & moisturizing shampoo with shea butter to moisturize. for conditiner i use rene furterer karite intense nourishing conditioning cream. both the shampoo & conditioners can be purchased at sephora.com.

what is your hair type? i use head and shoulders shampoo coz i have dandruff and finesse conditioner coz it leaves my hair smelling good and soft.

try dove shampoo and conditioner, it is gentle on your scalp, it smells good and the conditioner makes your hair soft and smooth. my mom got me this huge bottle of finesse so i'm just finishing it. i'll go back to dove soon. its not that expensive too.

i used to use pantene shampoo and conditioner but it didn't help with dandruff. the smell and the conditioning was great.

just stay away from generic brands like lander. they don't even lather and bubble. all lander products are knock offs of regular brands. the regular brands are cheap and effective. Lander imitates packaging and is ineffective.

also i had a bad experience with clairol herbal essences (shampoo n conditioner), i liked the smell but it really didnt work. the conditioner still left my hair in tangles. white rain (shampoo and conditioner)also has the same effect on me.

what i've discovered is that usually your hair/scalp gets too immune or used to the product after regular use (about 4 months) suddenly i'm not getting the results i used to get. i take this as a sign to switch shampoo n conditioner. i know put a couple of brands on rotation so that my hair stays the same. this theory of mine also goes with facial cleansers, whiteners too.

i just use pantene smooth and silky shampoo and conditioner.

correct way of shampooing and conditioning: (according to my vain friends)

1. brush you hair before taking a bath.

2. shampoo only the roots of your hair and just let the shampoo get to the other parts of your hair while rinsing it. you shouldn't lather your hair oo much because it will just make it drier.

3. then when conditioning, condition only the parts not too close to your roots. concentrate on applying conditioner to the tip of your hair instead(to lessen the possibility of hair loss. conditioners contain more chemicals). let it stay there for at least one minute, then rinse.

4 and to prevent dryness, they say that it's best not to brush or comb your hair while wet.

(as for me, i try doing the shampoo and conditioner technique. but my hair style is not really wash and go, so i need to brush and dry my hair while wet. but to try to save my hair, if im just staying home, i don't blow dry or brush my hair.)

Panteen is great, use the extra moisture one.. With the aid the conditioner.
Use cool wind hair dryer to blow it dry..
I purchased a hair tip moisture maintaining prayer from a saloon last time and the effect is great. It can really keep my hair in good condition and shiny as well (:
Another tip is to use different brand of shampoon now and then. I use Panteen, VS and Dove, change alternatively; The hair can get different nutrient everyday, so it can grow healthier! And comb your hair after you applied shampoo; After your hair dry, your hair will be quite shiny!

I always have three different ones going because I like to change around. Clairol's Herbal Essence, Jafra, and Suave Citrus. I also just bought Bath 'n Body Works Volumizing Shampoo in pink grapefruit and I LOVE it!
