I found this phrase on www.brake.org
"Many bikers are killed due to other drivers failing to
spot them and pulling out on them at junctions, but bikers are
also often killed due to riding at excessive speeds on bendy rural roads with pot holes, hidden junctions and other hazards."

Does anyone know where I might find exact figures?

Most of these statistics are made up...er,sorry...researched by the Government's T.R.L. (Transport Research Laboratory).

The Motorcycle Action Group also have access to the T.R.L. database.

Brake have a tendency to exaggerate killed/seriously injured figures to make their work seem more effective. Several bike magazines have proved this in the past.
Yes it's true a lot of deaths happen due to rider error in single vehicle accidents, but more deaths happen due to other factors (other drivers, diesel on road, and funnily enough potholes on bendy rural roads).
