It baffles me every time when i think about this. When school teachers gather to set examination questions, or the education ministry of any country, appoints a group to set questions for a major examination, the question papers get vetted numerous times by various people. Only after confirmation that the question papers are absolutely error free, they are sent for printing. Why so much of precaution? Because, the question papers seal the fate of the lives of numerous students and there is no margin for error. Another reason, the name of the institution who sets the paper is also at stake and its name cannot be tarnished because of errors in the question papers.
Now, if Humans can take so much precaution, how about God ? Why are there contradictions and errors in the Bible, which is supposed to be the guiding light of Christians? Ar'nt he supposed to Ensure that it is absolutely error free? We are not talking about fiction here, but God's Word. It does'nt make any sense at all .

Yes we can trust the word of God. The bible content not only the word's of God but also the words of the devil and his disciples. So we much know first if it is a words of God or not.
The words of God in the bible cannot contradict itself. The bible is the collection of inspired books where the revelation of God, His words and His mysteries are written. and all the words of God in the bible are in harmony with each other. As in the book of proverbs said "Pro 8:8 All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them.
Pro 8:9 They are all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge".

There are some translation that mislead or mistranslated. But we have the original writing to consult with.

The Bible states something before it even happens as what is written in the book of Isaiah 42:9 —

Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.

Where in the world can you find a book that predicts something before it even happens? Consider this statement made some three thousand years ago in the book of Daniel 12:4 —

“But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.”

Technologies like cellular phones, computers, satellites, and the likes, only prove that what was written in Daniel's prophecy some three thousand years ago was authentic. Imagine, nowadays, we can communicate and even see each other even if we are emanating from two different locations. That is not possible in the olden times!

This is just one of the many proofs that the bible is an authentic book.

There is a fundamental difference between truth and fact.

It is true that God exists but I cannot prove it.

It is a fact that President Bush said he invaded Iraq because of weapons of mass destruction but it is not true.

Catholics believe that the Bible teaches truth about God but it is not historically factual at all times.

The Bible was never meant to be a History or Science textbook.

The Bible's primary purpose is to teach us about God and His (or Her) love for us.

With love in Christ.

Praise be to Allah.

Whenever you have a question, trust me, go to The Holy Qur'aan you can find more than you want, as Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):

"- That they said (in boast), "We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah";- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not:-
- Nay, Allah raised him up unto Himself; and Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise;-"

[An-Nisa' 4: 157&158]

"- Hast thou not turned Thy vision to those who were given a portion of the Book? they traffic in error, and wish that ye should lose the right path.
- But Allah hath full knowledge of your enemies: Allah is enough for a protector, and Allah is enough for a Helper.
- Of the Jews there are those who displace words from their (right) places, and say: "We hear and we disobey"; and "Hear what is not Heard"; and "Ra'ina"; with a twist of their tongues and a slander to Faith. If only they had said: "What hear and we obey"; and "Do hear"; and "Do look at us"; it would have been better for them, and more proper; but Allah hath cursed them for their Unbelief; and but few of them will believe."

[An-Nisa' 4 : 44-46]

" Then woe to those who write the Book with their own hands, and then say:"This is from Allah," to traffic with it for miserable price!- Woe to them for what their hands do write, and for the gain they make thereby. "

[Al-Baqarah 2 : 79]

" Do they not consider the Qur'an (with care)? Had it been from other Than Allah, they would surely have found therein Much discrepancy. "

[An-Nisa' 4 : 82]
