How can you still find Bush an Honorable man when he said on the news that since the Dems have oppossed him, he is going to Veto there bill for emergency funds for the support of the soliders and then it will be all the Dems fault that they didn't get the money because they wouldn't do what he wanted?

If you truely think about it, it's all his fault if the troops don't get the money because he Veto-ed the bill.

I never said Bush was in the wrong, I said he can't 100 % blame the Dems on this one either...and I can't be the only one in the world that thinks we need a troop withdrawl date for a war on Oil in country that DID NOT attack us.

better question might be how or where can you find an honorable man in politics - I was agst this war long before it began - at first mention - and have been agst near everything Bush has done - however, since we are in a war and our guys are in harms way - what good is a public showing of telling the other guys when we are leaving - vote to leave tomorrow - great - but voting to choose a date in the future is sort of like a football team telling the opponents what play they will run next.. It is just starting to seem to me like they are all ridiculous down there in DC.. don't you think?

The Dems are trying to play hardball and it will backfire right in their laps. They will be the ones to go to when the troops and their families have no funding come April. How can it be all the Presidents fault when the House and Senate are the ones that allowed the Pork to be added knowing full well that the President would veto it not only for putting a timeline on the war (which you can't) but for all the added BS along with it. Pelosi was shown on the AM news today saying Mr. President theres a new congress in town. Now that tells me without a doubt that this whole bill is nothing but a BS political stunt.

Under that logic, if they added provisions to the bill enacting mandatory Satan worship and human sacrifices at all government functions it would still be his fault, for vetoing that!

The Democrats are loading the bill with nonsense. Bush wants a clean bill.

There may be some compromise in the offing, but I don't see how Bush is 100% in the wrong.

PS If the war is so wrong, then why don't the Democrats just cut funds NOW? The troops would then come home right away.

I did interpret your comment "it's all his fault" as blaming Bush 100%. Whatever.

I just hope that whatever happens is truly the best for the country. We can all argue over who gets the credit and the blame later. :)

He's vetoing the bill because of stipulations in the bill regarding a firm timetable starting next year for pulling troops out of Iraq. In other words, the legislative branch is trying to do the President's job for him, running the executive branch. Congress has no right to interfere. I don't blame him at all for vetoing the bill.

This is why the President has been fighting for the ability to "line-item veto" all these years.

Now do you understand?

If the DEMO would not stick all the other requirements in the bill and just make the bill for the money Bush would not have to veto it. Demo's want to add stuff that doesn't belong plus they want to add the we will bring the troops home on a set date. Why don't they just invite the murders to the capital building for tea.

Yes, you are exactly right. Did you hear on the news that there is now talk of an impeachment proceeding? And not just from Democrats, but from Republicans as well. The question here, is: Is the president still in his right mind for not at least listening to the people that voted him in office? Has he begun to think of himself as a dictator instead of a president? Does he believe that his way is right and everyone who disagrees with him and/or his policies are wrong?
I go back to the sameness or difference between Clinton and Bush. (I'm an independent, and didn't vote for Clinton on either election, and only voted for Bush on the first term). Clinton had impeachment proceedings against him, because he "lied, not because he got a BJ in office". Bush didn't lie, he only told everyone things that weren't true. To me, that is the same as lying. It has come to light already, that he knew from all of his sources, that he didn't have the necessary facts to invade Iraq, so, he invented stories in order to further his reasoning for going to war. The problem was that he kept on changing his reasoning.

I disagree with the other answer about the person who stated that he (GW Bush) has requested the line item veto for years. The fact is, that when Clinton was in office there was a line item veto law passed, however the Republican controlled congress took it to court and had it declared unconstitutional. It was thrown out. Each congress wants the right to have line item veto, as long as the other side of the isle is in control of the executive branch. But, not when their side is in control. Check your facts, before you comment!

What you need to be doing is seeing WHY he's saying he will veto the bill!

The Democrats have placed a spending bill on the table with limitations that include the withdrawal of troops.

What the public doesn't realize is that the experts have been attempting to bring order and self government into this region. This is something that takes time of which the American public has no stomach for. We've become a society of "instant results" despite what reality requires.

The public is incensed over the loss of 3200 soldiers yet forgets that this is a loss taking place over five years...yet what started this mess was the loss of over 3000 INNOCENT men, women, and children in less than an hour over New York City.

The terrorists we're fighting have declared war against us. Do we sit back and let them continue to destroy our lives on our own soil...or do we take THEIR fight to them on THEIR soil.

I'm all for peace and democracy and our continued freedoms that our forefathers died for! I refuse to live a life of fear because of some terrorists who have the ability to crash airplanes inside the borders of my own country!

Best wishes.

He is going to veto it because the Democrats added in a time line for troop withdraw. He said before he would veto it if they put that in there, and yet they did anyway.

First off it's called Politics and having a set of morals that you believe in. LIb's put this ball in play and if not careful, it's gonna bounce right off the court on them.

You truly do have some typical Lib thinking. It's all Bush's fault"
