You have a problem if you failed to write in the name of the payee on the MO and you failed to write your name and sign the receipt section. You should have immediately gone back to where you bought the MO and found out what options you might have. You can still try that, but time is running out. You definitely should call the police to establish the break-in - if there was a break-in. I hope you did not touch the car after the break-in so that you did not ruin or obscure any possible fingerprints.

Glad it got worked out. Hopefully they can find this ******! I had no luck when my Mustang got broken into. They stole a cheap cdplayer and cut all the wires under my dash. I made out because the dummy left a wallet on the front seat with $425 cash!!! 120 days later, police policy, I was able to claim that money and got a check from the city!

Please calm down. You need to call the police right now. Was your car locked? Then talk to your landlord about it. They will understand. Do you have any enemies? Everything will okay. Did you see anyone near your car. Just try to think of all of these things. I hope everything goes well after this :)
Sunidaze is right you do need to go to the place you purchased your money order. Right now. I have a question why would you go on yahoo first before you call the police. They would've spent it. Please go fast now!!! I hope it goes well.

Bud...if this happened too bad. Stupid to leave money/money order in the car. Of course...this is an old "I have to beat the rent this month because I spent too much money on other things" deal. Its an old game and your landlord will laugh their butts off while they file eviction proceedings.
Next time, write a check. Money orders are for people who either cannot pay for something by check because the business they are dealing with will not take personal checks..or....they're for people too lazy to balance a checkbook.

Please please PLEASE tell me you didn't come directly to yahoo answers rather than calling the cops first!

Contact the place where you purchased the money order, to see if some sort of cancellation can be done on it...but since both the money order and receipt is gone, I'm not sure what you can do.

You should call the police immediately. They could find all your stuff if you act quickly enough.

Dial 911. It is amazing how people just don't think these days.
