The New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures is all in modern English and based 100% on the most accurate translations available. It can be obtained without cost from any Jehovah's Witness in either written form or on CD. Of course, you may make a voluntary donation to continue the work of educating all people to the wonderful message of God's Kingdom if you wish.

Biblegateway.com has dozens of versions that you can look over and try out. But there is a lot scripture for which th emeaning requires you understand the historical setting in which it was written that will require other aids and resources than just the Bible itself, such as commentaries and concordances. The same site has some of the resources that can help you.

There are a number. But off hand the New Century version of the Bible might be best. There are, now that I am thinking of it, children's Bibles as well.
Hope this helps.

you don't read the Bible with only your eyes....you also read it with your heart....get a "study partner" with a better reading skill level, read and study together....then take what you have read to a trusted member of your church and have them answer any of the questions you still have....Lot's of luck.....
or try a free online Bible study course like this one.... http://www.uniquebiblestudy.com/
I'm sure there are others as well....good luck

There are so many translation errors, you really should learn Aramaic and/or Hebrew to get the oldest version there is. We don't even have the originals. Since God is loving and sooo insistent we follow his word, it should be easy enough to learn a different language and dig up old copies. :-)

here is the bible restored to very original text. the short font name you see is YHWH (Gods real name) and the longer font name is Yahushua (Jesus)
http://www.eliyah.com/Scripture/
You can also buy this one for like $18, way cheaper than any others out there, they make no profit.
you can also use this site, just choose which bible you want
http://www.biblegateway.com/
You can also go to some bible studies classes at church or in your town.
