To find an enlightened soul in the present Kali Yuga is extremely difficult for the only reason... the manifest phase of life we are passing through is more inclined towards wanton desires and materialistic reaches.

Imagine a situation if 24 Jesus Christ manifested today... how we would recognize the seniority... whom to pray or not!

In the present Kali Yuga phase of life only two or three enlightened souls manifest every hundred years. In the last about 150 years only two persons gained enlightenment... they were Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana. To be enlightened is to be one with yourself. A person of enlightened stature will most likely not be on yahoo they will be out doing all the things they are supposed to be doing to make this a better world. Me myself i find enlightened people kind of boorish, creepy, and one sided in their determination. I also envy them because they will have an inner peace that i can only dream about having. Why is it so hard to find one? because it is so hard to become one. There aren't very many around.

Perhaps that may depend on how you view someone who is enlightened? Enlightenment isn't something that is just proclaimed from the rooftops to everyone who passes by. Once someone received enlightenment, they still have choices to make and have to live moment to moment to maintain their enlightenment.

Many do not choose to accept the enlightenment that is within, and no amount of religion, spiritual questing, meditation or anything else can make anyone accept what is within unless that person goes within themselves to find it. So many seek outside themselves that they do not realize that enlightenment is ready and waiting within them to find.
