When in doubt, throw it out.

As expensive as it was, it is not worth taking a chance on your health.

Well this is a difficult question because it all depends on info you DO NOT have.

With any high risks foods (and yes, raw proteins are A #1 on the list) you have strict guidelines as to when food is a no go.

Any food left in the "temperature danger zone" which is between 40 degrees F and 140 degrees F, for more than 4 HOURS, needs to be thrown away immediately. Since you do not know when the temperature reached above 40 and how long it stayed above 40 this means you need to toss the chicken.

Is $1.50 worth of chicken really worth having food poisoning for 2-3 days???? I think not.

Hope that helps. :o)

Oh honey, it's fine. All these worry worts are just getting bent out of shape over paranoia.

You just need to cook it really well. Chopping it up a bit and grilling ti would be nice, as that exposes plenty of surface area and helps ensure complete cooking.

Better yet, cook it real well, dice it and use it in soup. It may end up a bit robbery if you don't marinate it well, but it's still safe as long as it's cooked well.

I tell you, if people today saw what people ate 100 years ago without getting sick, they'd be horrified, pull out their bleach and start washing everything down.

I'd eat it, but I'm a bit of a daredevil when it comes to food on it's way out! lol

If it has only recently thawed, I would cook it straight away. Try a small piece and see how you feel!

No. You should never thaw your chicken on the counter. Always in the fridge.

Throw it away. Do not pass Go. Do not collect $200

My advice, get some more chicken and don't eat that. e-coli doesn't have a smell but it will make you very sick. Frying it well could eliminate it but I wouldn't take a chance.

Throw it out! Chicken, and poultry in general can give you Salmonella which depending on your system can make you severely ill, and if you get a bad enough case can even kill you. Don't risk it, it's just a little chicken.

I would suggest you don't. Chicken and pork are much more succetable to get you sick. Plus, when defrosting meat it should never get above a certain temperature. That's when food poisoning sets in. You can never be too careful with chicken. Just throw it out =]

It's all depend on your immune systems.
I done it before and I am still kicking :-)
but do not tell the health department that :-)
If the chicken still cool, just clean it up, cook it well and eat it all up :-) The heat (specially fry) will kill the germs anyway.

Yes. If it was frozen when you pulled it out..and you cook it throughly..you won't get sick. Don't eat it if you left it out UNTHAWED! And if it's still questionable- throw it away (better safe than sorry!)
