Thank you for trying to add rationale to an otherwise irrational subject. I know why people do what they do and the fault lies with all of us. We have created a vaccuum in our society and have done this through materialism and corrupted values. We have made Art a commodity and thusly religion is a hot business. Look at superchurches and mass marketing and "the end is near" is always a big seller. Well, the end is near. Not one of us is going to live much past 100. Most of us won't make it to 90. More likely the women will live into their 80's and the men into their 70's. That's just the way it is. Well, since most of us are in our 20's and 30's and spend way too much time pursuing satisfaction of our coarsest levels of desire - getting stuff, getting sex, getting money to get stuff, and then trying to keep up with the neighbors or whatever it is, and the fact that we have devalued what we don't understand to the point of irrelevance in our day to day existence, it is no wonder that people want to believe they are right and what better authority than "what someone else said." People can't afford to stop and think about these things because then they wouldn't be able to earn enough money to pay for the things that keep them in bondage and since for many of us it's too late because we already bought the lie of the "American Dream" and are locked into mortgages and payments and "making the grade" or credit score; or have children and just have to stay on the gerbil wheel to keep all the balls in the air. If you really think about it, how we all live is just nuts. It is just absolutely the stupidest way to spend our short time on this earth. And since everyone has to be right all the time, and has to avoid losing, and has to protect against the enemy and has to win and get more stuff and newer stuff and please their boss and keep everyone happy and has to go along to get along and can't rock the boat...you know what I mean. They don't want to actually care about someone else who believes something else because it might infect their empirical sense of belief about their own fantasy, whatever it may be. As for me, I would love to stay and talk but I have a million things to do. I hope you understand.

This is suppose to be a question and answer board, but too many think its a debate board. Simple ignorance is the reason many people are here, they just don't understand the purpose of the board or feel like arguing with someone and don't have anyone available, so they come here and do it. Most of the rant style stuff you see doesn't belong here at all, like I said, its ignorant people who do not comprehend the purpose of a question and answer board. If they truly wanted a debate, they'd go to a debate board, but we're not dealing with the logical thinkers here, so if they actually did go to a debate board, they'd get back whatever they slung, and most are simply too whimpish to deal with someone who argues back. Here, we get one answer, so it's virtually impossible for anyone to have a debate, so they get their one-sided rant out without having to face logical debates about it.
What section would you go to if you wanted to bash a religion? Politics, science or pets?

I think it's in the nature of being religious to "bash" things rather than understanding them.
Notice the contrast between the believers and the atheists - the atheists go pretty far out of their way to make sure that they know what they're talking about before commenting (with some obvious exceptions, of course), while the believers are, frankly, remarkably ignorant about religion, but all the same eager to insult others over it.
How about it, believers? Why not try to understand, rather than constantly condemning?

Most people everywhere talk about things they know nothing of. It's just part of human nature. Also, in my opinion, the hate is not any worse here than in some other areas of Y!A. Check out Politics or LGBT, there is at least as much hate in both of those categories every day.
As for your underlying point, I agree.

The long drawn answers that I post mostly are dismissed by know it all, mainly Christians.. Who simply believe in their book and their brain washing from birth.. You can present the FACTS on a bloody silver platter and it makes no difference.. So it gets people like myself pis*ed off, that we know what we are talking about and yet we get treated as if we are the DEVIL himself , of which whom we don't believe in.. The attitude of the most brings it upon all...Blessed Be ...)O(

It bothers me too. Some people come here to call us names call our dear sweet Lord names and not to even misguide any one. The crazy thing is the name callers get stars and best answers. We must as believers become more involved in asking and answering questions and try to ignore the hateful ones. Maybe with luck if they are ignored they will go to another site. Hopefully to contribute in a positive way.

"But, but, my pastor told me it was all satan and demonspeak, and he's an official authority on everything in jesus's earth...."
Yeah, I don't think the jesusians care, and the rest of usu usually do some research before we speak. Christians have a hard time realizing that there is not a whole lot outside of the bible to back up anything they say, ever.

Yes, you are right.
I think it's human nature to belittle and degrade religions as it is the least understood subject. And i noticed the most critiques are usually from people who claimed to be quite religious and yet will close their ears and mind to others opinions.

people are always entitled to their own opinion, i may not always know what i'm talking about when i answer questions, considering that you may come across some questions such as the meaning of life etc.
its important when awnsering questions such as these, especially considering their delicate natures, that we keep an open mind, try to udnerstand both views of any argument and give information as unbiased as possible ( unless the question calls for it) we must never judge people who ask or answer here, for who are we to judge lest we ourselves are judged?
