Metallic objects are potentially dangerous, for they could be used as weapons against unsuspecting victims, not to mention the fact that in the event of an emergency evacuation, metallic objects are bulkier and heavier, while paper plates are "use and throw".

Why waste the paper ? The metal is reusable.

i'm italian all trash in italy is recycled, plastic, metals, glass, paper, etc. and in accordance to ecu guidelines, plastic cups and plates in will be purely biodegradable from the subsequent 3 hundred and sixty 5 days

Paper plates are both disposable and biodegradable. What more do you want.
