Robot is an abbreviation of the Slavic word Robotnik, or menial worker.
Ditch digger is a good example.
How would it feel to be a ditch digger?
This is all you have ever known, and all you will ever do. Pretty bleak, I expect. Not much room for variety.
Robots, by extension, do the 'ditch digging', the menial work of the modern age.
In a word, Drudgery.

It wouldn't, robots have no feeling or emotion. You can see this in many Christian services when they kneel and stand and put money in an offering plate in unison.
