I still don't know at the age of 49 3/4. I'm still looking though. I think I must have a role, just don't have a clue what it could be. Maybe one of my kids will make a difference and my role was to raise them?

The initial role for each of us is to make it our goal to eventually fit into the plan of God, which is to be restored soon:
What Is God's Purpose?
- God Does Have A Very Good Purpose!
- God's Kingdom of a Thousand Years
http://www.watchtower.org/library/g/1999/2/8/article_02.htm
An Inheritance We Can Count On ...
- “The Meek Shall Inherit the Paradise Earth”
- - God's Eternal Purpose for the Earth
- - A God Who Has Not Changed
- - How to Share in the Promised Inheritance http://www.watchtower.org/e/20041001/article_02.htm
To that end, it is currently my role to be a part of helping others who want to embrace that goal. Like 'wannaknow'.

Nice question- I feel I'm at a cross-roads right now. Should I stay or should I go? I have worked different jobs-I'll confine this to an 18 yr. period while having been married around twenty yrs.- to make ends meet while my husband has had two jobs - He plans to retire from the second in 12 yrs. We have raised two boys that are about out of high-school. I have a good job now but I don't feel I am the person to stay there career wise. I am happy with the income but I believe I need to transition out , I've ALWAYS felt I've had to be flexible, pulling all kinds of manuevers out of my hat, getting good bargains for nice clothes to wear to work or sometimes working in extremely physical jobs while taking care of demands of shopping, cleaning raising children, dealing with always being low senority (which means more -bulk work-no matter where you work.) I'm not complaining it's just I believe my role in life is to make that important move all the time that pivots us(family-wise) towards well-being. Bills always have to be paid and foundations kept. I am a Christian and this is how I stay in the game of life. Honestly I love new adventures and look forward to tapping into where God wants me next or allows me to be. I want to be responsible though and not leave people out on a limb, I do get ansy of feeling unsettled and still feel a big change is coming. How about you?

My role for now is to be the best Christian, wife & mother that I can be. But our lives roles are constantly changing, so who knows, in 20 years, what my role will be.

The following Scriptures say it much better than I can:
Matthew 22:36-39: "Â “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37Â He said to him: “‘You must love Jehovah your God with your whole heart and with your whole soul and with your whole mind.’ 38Â This is the greatest and first commandment. 39Â The second, like it, is this, ‘You must love your neighbor as yourself.’"
Matthew 28: 19 & 20a: "Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, 20Â teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded YOU"
Matthew 24:14: "And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come."
Isaiah 43:10-12: "“YOU are my witnesses,” is the utterance of Jehovah, “even my servant whom I have chosen, in order that YOU may know and have faith in me, and that YOU may understand that I am the same One. Before me there was no God formed, and after me there continued to be none. 11Â I—I am Jehovah, and besides me there is no savior.”
12Â “I myself have told forth and have saved and have caused [it] to be heard, when there was among YOU no strange [god]. So YOU are my witnesses,” is the utterance of Jehovah, “and I am God."

Volume 7, Book 64, Number 265:
Narrated Abu Huraira:
The Prophet said, "The one who looks after a widow or a poor person is like a Mujahid (warrior) who fights for Allah's Cause, or like him who performs prayers all the night and fasts all the day."
