Depends on how old he is. Bitter apples (spray) has never worked for any of my dogs but pepper has. As mentioned Tabasco source may be a good idea but won't it stain? The extra toys idea is great for distracting him as is the extra exercise idea. Distraction is good too, when he starts chewing have an empty plastic pop bottle filled with stones and shake it as soon as he starts, tell him 'no' and reward him for stopping. The reward should be given quickly so he knows it's for stopping what he was doing.
Good luck

How old is your dog? If he's still a puppy, he might be teething.
A muzzle is about the only sure way to stop him. Or you might try spraying the bed with bitter apple or something else that tastes bad. Though I hesitate to suggest that since the point is to stop his chewing, not to get him to abandon his bed.
Otherwise he's probably always going to be a chewer.

Try a anti chew spray or lemon juice, spray it on his bed, dogs don't like the taste. Go on google to kong recipes they have some good treats for dog that you fill your kong with you can freeze some so it takes your dog a while to get through them

wow, we have wolfhound lurchers... the best breed of dog ever (lurchers) ours dont chew, but they havent got molegrip jaws... big jaws yes, but nothing like the power of a staffy...
first off change his bedding... ours sleep on old duvets folded up...or the bed... and he may just want chewy things... give him a chunk of Oak... (pine becomes matchsticks too quickly) or a piece of heavy duty plastic pipe... or a motorcycle tyre.. (they dont have a steel banding) and my mates who have staffys, well, its what they do...
some dogs just like to chew...

There is a liquid you can buy from a pet store and after you spray it where you do not want the dog to chew, he will stop chewing on it.

In any given situation, focus on what you do want your dog to do instead of on whatever he’s doing wrong. Learn how to train your dog https://tr.im/uPp6S
For example, suppose that on many evenings, your young dog gets busy looking for trouble just as you’re digesting your dinner. He grabs a boot from the mat by the front door and gallops through the house with it. You yell at him and take it away. He grabs its mate. You yell and take it away. He heads for the kitchen and starts checking out the counters in case something tasty’s been left behind. You chase him away. And on and on, until you’ve lost your temper and torn out clumps of hair you can ill afford to lose.

the most cheap and cheerful method - Tabasco sauce. with your finger, liberally apply where he is chewing. Repeat as required.
Its non toxic and the dogs wont like it. They will loose interest after a few days.
Mine chewed my brand new pvcu back door step - added a nice blob of green Tabasco, he drank for England, did it again and drank even more..................
He never went back to that step again!!

Try buying a variety of good tasting bones for him to chew on. Make sure he knows they are treats before you give it to him, have an abundance of them; and as soon as he starts chewing, give him one of these chew bones. It worked for my puppy, good for his teeth, and decreased chewing on other things.
