That part about the general belief would seem to be so much hot air. Oh, is this question directed only at theists who believe in angels?

why did God create humans? We have glimpses and ideas, but no man really knows.
I think the free will is the huge defining factor. The difficulty in creating creatures with free will. The whole universe in perhaps one big experiment/project of God. Setting things in motion and watching his thoughts play out.
Are we truly like his children? Are we so many fleeting thoughts of God? Are we a way for God, a being much differnt than us to experience his created universe from within?

He did make angels to worship Him, but He did not create them in the likeness of Him. We, on the other hand, have been made in the likeness of Him and have been given Free Will. It is to show that even if you have a choice to decide to live the life you want, you will never be fulfilled until you have Unity with God and will ultimately acknowledge Him and praise Him for the gift he has given us. This is only if you decide to find the Truth. You have to want to. Free Will.

He gets bored with angels since most angels agree with him. So he created human to have a competition with Satan to see who win more followers.
These are possible answers but it does not fit the belief of the believers. That's why this belief of god is illogical.

Your question is full of unreasonable assumptions, as follows.
1. that there is a god
2. that he created humans
3. that his reason was so humans would worship him.
4. that there are angels
5. that angels worship god, too.
All these assumptions have no basis in reality. Humans arose through a natural biological process called evolution. There are no angels. There is no god.

Angels don't have free will, they do not disobey, humans do.
To see wether good or evil in people will provail,
But we live this life so that we will have no excuse infront of God, Imagine being created then thrown in Hell, you would say that you would have been Faithful if you have lived, But God knows otherwise.

Why would an omnipotent being want to be worshipped? It's just another example of God's human flaws, resulting from the imperfect composition of the myth.

If you have a corporation, you have the President, the VP, the Board of directors and the stockholders.
God, Archangels, other levels of angels, and the humans
in both of these scenarios you need the entire heirarchy

god created humans in his own immage with his own essence in it as our souls to spread peace love harmoney all over so we may worship each other to feel the bliss of life but the mind and body revolted against the god to full fill theire temporary needs related to ego ,lust ,anger ,greed ,attachments and hunger ,clothes ,housing ,vanities of the world which are time bound material needs.
leaving the permanent need of love peace harmoney and bliss. Till we understand the gambit of mind and body e.i.time and material through our wisdom.
God him self wanted to feel through our mind and bodies as soul is the only sensor of the feelings of mind and body .
thus he decided to become from one to many .
Creating humans in his own image by using his permanent essence as soul and by using the temporary aspects of time and material.
He is sure that this temporary phase will end with time and wisdom will dawn on humanity.
